The Willis Tower, built as and still commonly referred to as Sears Tower, is a 108-story, 1451ft skyscraper in Chicago, Illinois, United States. At completion in 1973, it surpassed the World Trade Center towers in New York to become the tallest building in the world, a title it held for nearly 25 years. The Willis Tower is the second-tallest building in the United States and the 14th-tallest in the world. More than one million people visit its observation deck each year, making it one of Chicago's most popular tourist destinations. The structure was renamed in 2009 by the Willis Group as part of its lease on a portion of the tower's space., the building's largest tenant is United Airlines, which moved its corporate headquarters from the United Building at 77 West Wacker Drive in 2012 and today occupies around 20 floors with its headquarters and operations center. The building's official address is 233 South Wacker Drive, Chicago, Illinois 60606.HistoryPlanning and constructionIn 1969, Sears, Roebuck & Co. was the largest retailer in the world, with about 350,000 employees. Sears executives decided to consolidate the thousands of employees in offices distributed throughout the Chicago area into one building on the western edge of Chicago's Loop. Sears asked its outside counsel, Arnstein, Gluck, Weitzenfeld & Minow (now known as Arnstein & Lehr, LLP) to suggest a location. The firm consulted with local and federal authorities and the applicable law, then offered Sears two options: an area known as Goose Island and a two-block area bounded by Franklin Street on the east, Jackson Boulevard on the south, Wacker Drive on the west and Adams Street on the north, with Quincy Street running through the middle from east to west.

For 24 years Ginseng Nightlife has hosted events serving over 2 million club-goers and had the honor of witnessing Chicagoland’s Asian nightlife thrive from a point of virtual non-existence. In recent years, Ginseng headed up the only 3-night/week promotion ever solely catering Asian scene. From a time where such events didn’t exist, to now (as Chicago is hailed by industry peers as the nation’s Asian Nightlife haven), we’ve all come a longer way than anyone could have ever known. Having been the first Asian promotion with major nightclub residencies, it didn’t take long to have the title of the city’s longest running Asian promotion. However we cannot express enough our gratitude to the countless generations that now afford us the record of the nation’s longest running promotion group…period. With as many choices as the industry often provides, we thank the immeasurable number of enthusiasts now in the scene and the die-hard veterans that were there from the beginning. It is from you that we are here. We can only hope it is from us that come lasting memories of over 2 decades of celebrations. Salut!!

Tradition. Passion. Community. These are the values we've been cultivating off the coast of Lake Michigan since 1875. As one of the oldest and most respected clubs in the world, Chicago Yacht Club is proud of the diverse membership we've built up. While we revel in the camaraderie and social opportunities of the club, our members come together with a passion for yachting and a love of the lake. We welcome you and your family to join as members, not only participate in our over 125 racing events and yachting lifestyle, but also be a part of our rich history and enduring legacy. We want to help you get involved, compete in your first race, join a racing committee, participate with our Foundation, take a class or seminar, get your kids passionate about boating and, of course, make lifelong friends. In conjunction with the club’s management staff, our constantly-active committees coordinate a variety of social events, educational programs and seminars, holiday festivities, theater, museum and cultural outings, and regular Friday night committee and fleet happy-hour gatherings. From informal barbecues on the patio and potluck dinners on the docks to elegant wine-tastings and black-tie New Year's Eve galas, our members always have a reason to celebrate their membership.
WreckLess Chicago is a social club of greasers, gearheads, backstreet gamblers and midnight ramblers organized together around retro subculture, motorcycles and hot rods. With good intentions, questionable judgment and an attitude forged by the sound of a revving motor and the three chord progression of Rock & Roll, ours is a tight knit group focused on standing tall, riding hard and keeping the faith. If you own it - ride it. Period.
