The Armory is an exhibit/ presentation that takes place once a year at DragonCon in Atlanta. It consists of a museum-quality display of military weapons and equipment paired with panel discussions about their science and history. The display is curated by noted military historian Kevin Dockery and includes pieces from stone knives to nuclear weapons (inert of course), This track was created to educate, inform and entertain. The only items ever sold at The Armory are books and posters. These are the types of items seen only in museums or by those using them in the field. This is a rare opportunity to see these items up close and ...very personal. Do not miss out!

The Fatherless Generation Foundation has created several programs we believe are shifting the hearts and elevating the minds of everyone participating. Programs such as our Husband & Wife Mentor Team; we believe if you never seen a 2 parent household it is difficult to replicate, Committed Fatherhood; which is our process of re-engaging biological father back into their children’s lives, In the Midst of Single Parenting- Single Parent Support, Quarterly Recreational Events, and Peer Groups. We are here to discuss our Peer Groups! Through our Peer Groups we are able to teach fatherless children life and leadership skills helping to alleviate the stress as well as the anger they feel surrounding the absence of their fathers. We also teach the children coping mechanisms and provide them with the opportunity to voice their opinions and feelings concerning an issue in which they have been silence. We first see change occur in their eyes and then in their posture. What is the change that is happening? They are no longer ashamed about their set of circumstances becoming confident about who they are!
We seek dignity and a high standard of independent living regardless of economic status, age, sex, religion, disability or nationality. Our aim is to create an environment of trust and caring, while striving to provide those with mental and physical disabilities with the quality of life they deserve.
"Families with Intense Emotions" or PDAN Families is a page that aims to be also a support group, debating topics of parenting, best practices in raising children, especially in 2-home families and in foster homes (what to do after separation has happened; we won't talk much about the legal aspect of divorce). PDAN's focus remains the children and prevention of Personality Disorders (PDs) - see www.facebook.com/PDAN Also managing - and loving - parents with PDs, and living with siblings with emotional issues. We'd like to discuss parental alienation, which captured many people's interest on our main page a few weeks ago, how to deal with PAS (parental alienation syndrome) and how to try to prevent it - if it can be... We'll discuss family situations stemming from sensitive self-esteem, low empathy and narcissism... The goal is to have people help others by sharing their real-life experiences, more than is taking place on PDAN's main page. We are inviting people to ask questions. We will post your questions (with names or anonymously, as you prefer). If you have ideas for such a page, or if you are interested in volunteering as an admin for this page, please let us know here or email [email protected]. Thanks!!
The Georgia Center for Resources and Support was implemented in 2001 by the Georgia Department of Human Services and contracted to Families First, Inc. The purpose of the Center was to provide a centralized resource for adoptive families to assist them in locating services needed to successfully meet the needs of their adopted children. On July 1, 2004, The Georgia Center for Resources and Support: Serving Adoptive and Foster Families, expanded its services in order to meet the needs of both adoptive and foster families who reside in the state of Georgia. The administrative office and library of the Center are located at 1105 West Peachtree St. NE in Atlanta. Regional Resource Advisors are positioned within local communities throughout the state. Resource Advisors are available to help families clarify their needs, access resources and feel supported as they resolve issues related to foster care and/or adoption. The Center coordinates referrals to many diverse resource and supportive services throughout the state. As a non-profit, professional organization all of its services are provided free of charge to all adoptive and foster families living in Georgia. In addition, adoptive families who reside in Georgia can utilize these services regardless of the origin of their adoption. As part of this mission, the CEISMC Academic Mentoring Program seeks to place college students and college graduates in local schools and classrooms. During mentoring sessions academic mentors provide academic assistance, ACT/SAT Prep, and assistance with the college and scholarship application process. Mentos also serve as supplemental academic support for students in need of additional support or a challenge in their math classes. Mentors also engage students in community service and expose them to STEM through partnerships with science teachers and afterschool clubs.
