Founded in 2009, by the Bodega Crew with a goal of creating more places for punks to loiter, artists to flourish, and more voices to be heard. The idea was to turn dormant commercial spaces into pop up gallery spaces reclaiming urban space for public art projects and progressive exhibitions. We keep it independent/free form and curate cultural artifacts for the neighborhood. We settled into our current location at 132 brookline Ave. Boston MA 02215 a wonderful 3,000 square foot gallery with many possibilities.

MASSART FILM SOCIETY Programmed by Saul Levine, MassArt Film Society is a screening class for MassArt film students open to those who are interested. We hope to provide access to films and videos not often shown at other venues. Shows begin @ 8pm and are usually held on Wednesday evenings. Born 1946-1964, baby boomers number 80 million in the U.S. alone, making up 44% of the adult population. We run the spectrum of personality types and professional experiences. The Civil Rights Movement and the Women’s Movement; poodle skirts and bell bottom blue jeans; the assassination of President Kennedy and the resignation of President Nixon; I love Lucy and Laugh-In; The Beach Boys and The Beatles; the walk on the moon and the dance of the twist; Kent State University and the Vietnam War. You know the list! We baby boomers will live 10-25 years longer than our parents. We will work differently than those our age of the past. We will diverge from the norms of aging, set new courses of work and play, and develop fresh voices in all arenas of life. Ba’ Boom has no answers, instructions, or road maps. What we do know is that when people gather with the intention of doing something good, wonderful ripple effects result. The Boston Launch and Beyond Ba’ Boom Boston will launch January 17, 2014 with the Gathering of Gals with Grace + Wisdom + Wit, an all-day event designed for women boomers, give or take some years in age. Participants will be limited to 200 for the day of talks, conversations, and workshop activities. Ba’ Boom expects to grow gatherings in other parts of the country, launching in an additional city in 2015. Ba’ Boom believes in the power of community and support. It plans to give away portions of net profits to boomers changing their lives for the better and touching, positively, the lives of others in the process. The mission of the Center for Adolescent Substance Abuse Research (CeASAR) at Boston Children's Hospital is to discover new ways to reduce substance abuse and related disorders in children and adolescents. Dr. John R. Knight established the Center for Adolescent Substance Abuse Research in 1999. CeASAR's goal is to provide national leadership in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of substance-related disorders as they affect children and adolescents. The center conducts research, teaching and training in the field of adolescent substance abuse. Through its research, CeASAR is developing evidence-based strategies to help pediatricians and other health care providers identify adolescent substance use at its onset and intervene before serious harm results. The research team conducts studies on new methods of screening adolescent patients for substance abuse as well as brief office-based therapeutic interventions. The New England Partnership for Substance Abuse Research (NEPSAR), a network of primary care sites throughout New England, was recently formed to enhance our ability to develop, test, and disseminate these new strategies.

Also without focusing our work in radically changing our own style and having Capoeira Regional as our main reference, we are constantly trying to keep up with its daily evolution. We train Capoeira as a social form to keep its valuable culture of Brazil and expressive image strongly present. We focus on learning the martial art, music, acrobatics, artistic aspects just like those who practice Capoeira around the world. Capoeira is not just known for being a healthy activity or a form of physical exercise, but also for teaching and having a mental and spiritual benefit; being that Capoeira teaches its students the elements needed for one search his or hers own freedom, and if allowed by the students over its body and soul. We base our work in the deep mentality of ‘Preservation’ while seeking a vision of one day being like Capoeira, without illusion, with our pleasures and obstacles that are to overcome; we search for a physical and mental evolution.
