Founded in July 1994... The Church is open on Thursday and Sunday nights, though we occasionally host special events on other nights. Inspired by Carlos Menendez and Frankie Morales and their long running theme night, which began in Miamis "Velvet" nightclub, The Church provides Dallas most unique nightclub experience. The Church is located at 2424 Swiss Avenue, in the Swiss Avenue historic district. The original building was constructed in 1899 as a trolley car repair station, and is listed in the north Texas Haunted Building Registry. Paranormal researchers have confirmed that the building is, in fact, haunted, and we occasionally experience paranormal activity. The building underwent an extensive renovation in 1974 as the Grand Crystal Palace Dinner Theater. The Video Bar is actually a separate building, constructed in 1974, as an addition to the Grand Crystal Palace. The Church features 5 separate lounges, 3 DJs, and a rooftop patio with an incredible view of the city. The musical landscape includes everything from Ambient Sounds, Neo Gothic, current and classic Industrial, EBM, Electro, Dark House, and the occasional musical "surprise."

The 7th Annual Homegrown Festival will once again fill vibrant Downtown Dallas with music and art at Main Street Garden Park on Saturday May 14th. Pacific Place is a Class-A skyscraper located at 1910 Pacific Avenue in the City Center District of Dallas, Texas. The structure contains 20 floors of office space and stands adjacent to the historic Majestic Theatre. It is connected to the Dallas Pedestrian Network and sits across Pacific Avenue from Aston Park and the proposed Pacific Plaza Park. It lies within the Harwood Historic District, but it not a contributing structure.HistoryPacific Place, constructed of steel, masonry and purple reflective glass, opened in 1982 as a multi-tenant office tower. It was constructed on the site of the historic 1921 Melba Theatre, one of several theaters along Elm Street's Theater Row, and an adjacent parking structure. Its narrow building site resulted in recessed courtyard entrances on both Elm Street and Pacific Avenue, while the angled facade provided multiple corner offices and allowed light to reach the neighboring Corrigan Tower. The second level of the building was connected via skywalk to the Dallas Pedestrian Network, providing access to parking and retail facilities.The building suffered high vacancy rates due to the economic recession of the 2000s. By 2008 the doors were closed, although the building's public spaces were still well-maintained. Several proposals were developed, including a study to converted the building into 198 residential units. The building sold in April 2010 to Boxer Property for $5.3 million. Following renovation, it reopened for leasing in April 2012.

The Reunion Lawn Party will be held the last Saturday of every month (June-August) at 6:30pm. The Lawn Party will be hosting cover bands on our stage and food trucks on our lawn, as well as leaving plenty of lawn space for activities and games! Poor David's Pub Open Mic is an all ages/all talent levels/all genres event held every Monday. Sets are normally fifteen minutes/three songs. We operate on a system based on arrival at the event or random drawing. Doors open at 5:00pm for Happy Hour until 7pm, when signup begins. The first act usually goes on at 7:30pm. We usually have a Featured Artist at approximately 8:30pm for a 20-30 minute set. This is typically an artist actively playing gigs in the area or on the road. We occasionally have one or more audition spots between 8 and 9pm for artists who we feel may be ready to play a show at Poor David's Pub. These spots are booked at our discretion and subject to Poor David's ability to attend. I cannot promise any individual open mic participant a specific spot, as that is unfair to the other participants. Full bands (bands with a drum kit to set up) can book a longer set in advance, and we ask them to arrive early enough to be set up and ready to go before 7pm. Those bands will usually share a back line and perform after 9pm, under the present format. We also do a showcase night several times a year. These shows normally include up to four open mic participants who are able to do a full 30-45 minute set and feel that they might be able to draw a paying audience. Poor David's Pub does not serve food. Guests are welcome to bring food in, or have food delivered by one of the many excellent restaurants nearby. Menus are located between the bar and the sound booth. Please ask one of the staff for help. We do ask that everyone attending the open mic purchase at least two beverages during the evening to make it worth it for Poor David's Pub to be open for our event. Non-alcohol beverages are available for those who are too young or choose not to drink alcohol. Also, please keep in mind that your server is working for tips. It may look like a fun job, but it's gotta pay or it ain't worth doin'. We encourage original music, but do not forbid cover tunes. Please arrive early and be prepared to play when it's your turn. Instruments should be tuned BEFORE getting onstage. If you'd like for folks to stick around to hear you play, please return the favor and be a part of the listening audience for the other performers. We encourage everyone to bring friends and family. It's always more fun to play to a crowd than to an almost empty room.
