Bard High School Early College (BHSEC) Baltimore is a four-year public school slated to open in Fall 2015 that allows students to take a two-year, tuition-free college course of study in the liberal arts and sciences following the 9th and 10th grades. BHSEC students graduate with a high school diploma and up to 60 Bard college credits and an associate's degree.

The First Year Experience Program at Coppin State University is an initiative designed to help first year students successfully transition into the University community. Through a wide range of programs and services, we strive to meet the unique needs of first year students. Our program is here to connect students to campus resources, explain University policies and procedures, offer workshops on a range of topics, coordinate the orientation course (ORIE 101) that all first year students must take, coordinate our Peer Leader program, and make sure that we address other challenges that our first year students might face.
The Coppin State University School of Graduate Studies came into existence, during the summer of 1968, when the Special Education Graduate degree program was initiated. This program was designed to prepare professional personnel to work with mentally retarded and emotionally disturbed children. The program was intended to provide special educators for the expanding special education programs in the public schools of Baltimore and the surrounding areas. As recent as January 2000, Coppin State University School of Graduate Studies expanded its master degree program, when the Board of Regents for the University System of Maryland and the Maryland Higher Education Commission approved the Master of Science in Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counseling program. Since its establishment in 1968 the School of Graduate Studies has made a strong commitment to ensure that its programs are relevant to the changing needs of its students, the professional communities it serves, and society. The major goal set forth by the School of Graduate Studies is to provide a learning environment conductive to the development of skills, attitudes and competencies that are applicable to growth and development in an urban setting. The School of Graduate Studies is a member of the Council of Graduate Schools. And holds to its accreditations the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE), and Council of Rehabilitation Education (CORE). The School of Graduate Studies offers master degree programs through the departments of Psychology and Rehabilitation Counseling, Adult and General Education, Criminal Justice, Special Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Social Science and Nursing.

The Cavaliers Music Enrichment Program, Inc. (CMEP) is a unique opportunity for students to excel in music studies outside of their regular school timetable. Students can participate in-group and individual lessons in Brass, percussion, woodwind and voice. This is an opportunity to travel to Morocco in late May/early June, 2013. The course will be listed in the Summer One Term, and students may earn 3 credits upon successful completion. The prerequisite is any 200-level Literature course (in addition to Composition I and II). Last March, students traveled on the first such trip. Students at other universities and members of the general public are encouraged to join the course.
The Student Ambassador program showcases students with exceptional leadership skills and holds them responsible for various student related programs, tours and events. The James Edgar McDonald Child Development Center was established in 2013 to address the child care and early learning needs for young children of students, University faculty, staff, and the immediate community. The center is located on the Campus of Coppin State University within the Health and Human Services Building. The Child Development Center is a high quality early care and education program that promotes healthy social and emotional development, as well as interactive learning through meaningful play experiences that are carefully planned to match children’s interests, learning styles, and abilities.
