Located in San Francisco and in its 21st year, Tiger Basketball Camp has been attended by thousands of Bay Area boys and girls aged 5-15 years old. The camp emphasizes fundamental skills, including dribbling, passing, shooting, rebounding and playing defense. Our coaching staff helps campers translate those skills into game situations. The program appeals boys and girls who are new to basketball, as well as though those who have had vast playing experience. Regardless of the level of play, our #1 priority is to make sure everyone has fun! Assisting Coach Smith will be student-athletes and coaches from LWHS' basketball program. EyeHeart Theater, under the leadership of Katy Porter and supported by a staff of skilled professionals, is excited and proud to offer a comprehensive, holistic and creatively engaging 9 week theater intensive for teens! Our curriculum includes the techniques of the great masters of drama (ie. Stanislavsky, Meisner, Adler, Hagen) as well as a sampling of a wide variety of forms: improv, clowning, stage combat, commedia dell’arte and many more! The program is holistic in that our young actors are taught to develop their own character off stage. Part of character development is kindling an appreciation for one’s instrument (body, mind, voice) through relaxation/meditation techniques, dance, speech, singing, writing, and many other modes. Students also develop the actor’s ability to observe the world and empathize with its inhabitants. The qualities of honesty, respect, courage and kindness are demanded, as prerequisites for the creation of a space safe for budding artists to feel the freedom to take risks. To say that the summer will be creatively engaging is an understatement! Participants will be exposed to such a wide variety of subjects, instructors, and techniques. From day one we will hit the ground running with challenging games, exercises, movement, theories; all intended to facilitate discovery. One of the great things about theater is how varied its forms are. There is truly something for everybody!
