The Student Leadership Council (SLC) is the official student government organization on campus (Student Governance 2.5.5.) The SLC represents student interests and concerns and promotes student involvement in school sponsored events, clubs, forums, athletics, and honor societies. SLC provides an opportunity for students to develop and demonstrate leadership skills and work on issues that impact the student body. Being involved means opportunities for leadership training, conferences, scholarships, networking with administration and faculty and making a difference on campus and in our community. Meetings: The SLC meets every Monday (Fall & Spring Semester) from 1:00- 3:00 pm in the Student Union to review and coordinate programs and services that benefit the students. Meetings are open to the student body. The weekly meetings are governed by the students and supported by advisors. There are many opportunties to get involved such as: Student Forums, Community Service Events, Annual Bear Day, Fundraising, and management of the Blue Crew Spirit Team. Executive Team members are selected by a committee appointed by the Director of Student Life and Leadership. Membership includes the Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, Communication Manager(s) and the Event Manager(s). General Membership: Members-At-Large provide a voice for students and assist the communication managers in regards to SLC issues, events & initiatives. They are selected by a committee appointed by the Director of Student Life and Leadership. Inter-Club Council Membership includes a representative from each active club. Contact the SLC presidents (Ramon C.)(Genesis C.), vice president (Erik J.) or the Student Life and Leadership Office if you are interested in serving on a college committee, forming a club or organization, planning a college activity, or becoming involved in student government. Students are also welcome to provide suggestions and feedback for SLC members to bring to the attention of campus leadership by submitting ideas and comments at our designated suggestion boxes.

The REACH/TRiO program at Phoenix College serves as a resource and voice for first generation, low-income students and students with disabilities at Phoenix College. The program promotes a learning environment which challenges students to grow personally and professionally. REACH also provides a supportive environment for developing potential and promoting success, and to assist students in reaching their goal of graduating from Phoenix College, has established a supportive environment for developing potential and promoting success. The Creighton University School of Medicine’s regional campus in Phoenix, Arizona is located at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, a member of Dignity Health. Customer service experiences in this fully licensed facility vary from buffet and menu service to catering and formal dining, highlighting locally grown and harvested foods when possible. Innovative eco-friendly business practices are integrated into the program, in an effort to sustain our natural resources. Student who participate in the Metro Tech program will be required to obtain a current food handler's card. Community college dual enrollment credits may be offered. Metro Arts is an independent, chartered college prep arts school located in downtown Phoenix AZ. Providing a balanced program of college preparatory academics and arts courses for students in grades 7-12, Metro emphasizes excellence, authenticity, integrity, and tolerance. RICHIE RUSSO After honing his musical skills from the age of 13, through four years of higher education, and almost 20 years teaching and performing experience, Richie Russo enjoys sharing what he has learned to all who are willing and want to create beautiful music. Born in Miami, FL and growing up in central FL, he has traveled to Europe and South America and had the privilege of studying abroad at The National Conservatory of Argentina under head piano professor Sr. Arabián. Having had much success in teaching piano, Richie has had the pleasure of seeing many former students go on to follow their dreams of performing piano and teaching. Richie Russo has played in several bands, most notably Isle of Essence where his music composition flourished. He has spent much of his career providing piano accompanying for Valencia College in Orlando, FL, University Community Church in Orlando FL, and Desert Marigold School in Phoenix, AZ as well as teaching piano at The Center for Education and Arts in Orlando, FL, The Band Room in Orlando, FL, Music Works Academy in Phoenix, AZ as well as independently. Above all he is passionate about spreading his love of music to students and audiences of all ages.
