The Department of Athletics schedules the majority of its competitions with other members in its Division, within the University’s regional and geographical location. Founded in 1984, St. Thomas University School of Law is located on the University's main campus in Miami Gardens. The School of Law includes a multi-level library, a moot court amphitheater, faculty and administrative offices, a computer lab, and classrooms and offices for student organizations. The architectural combination of buildings and breezeways provides a comfortable setting for the study of law. St. Thomas Law is fully accredited by the American Bar Association and is a member of the Association of American Law Schools. It is part of a Catholic university and a law school where values matter. Located between vibrant legal communities in Miami and Fort Lauderdale, St. Thomas Law offers clinical, externship, internship, and part time employment opportunities in both. Biscayne College is the home of liberal arts and social sciences at St. Thomas University, composed of the Department of English and Humanities, the Department of History, Philosophy, and Global Studies, the Department of Social Sciences and Counseling, and the Institute for World Languages; it also houses the University Honors Program and the Center for Ethics.

The University Library is a resource center where learning is experienced in solitude, in connection, in community. It serves as the University’s source of support and instruction in research and information literacy. Moreover, it partners with local, regional and international organizations to provide quality services, and to link the University with the Archdiocese and the larger community of learners. If you’re not game to be a player, mascot, or coach, you can still catch all the action up close and personal as by working alongside the team, players, or even the partnership organization. Sports administration lets you participate in—and cash in on—the exciting world of sports from a business standpoint. In this major, you’ll learn about sports themselves (perhaps focusing on one or two in particular) plus the psychological principles at work behind them and how sports fit into our society. But you’ll also gain a strong foundation of knowledge in the field of business, examining how the worlds of business and sports interact and how you can make those interactions more profitable and beneficial for every person and interest involved.

The University Library is located at the center of the Florida Memorial University campus. The Library is an attractive two-story structure, with approximately 25,000 square feet of floor space with reading rooms on each level, and a seating capacity of over 500.

FMU RELAY FOR LIFE: APRIL 20-21ST, 2012 At Relay, teams of people camp out at a college, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track. Each team has a representative on the track at all times during the event. Because cancer never sleeps, Relays are overnight up to 24 hours in length. Most of the fundraising is performed by teams during the months leading up to the Relay For Life event. All these activities provide opportunities for students, teachers, administrators and faculty to celebrate people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against a disease that has taken too many lives.

In the late 1930s, more than 150,000 volunteers with a love for aviation argued for an organization to put their planes and flying skills to use in defense of their country. As a result, the Civil Air Patrol was born one week prior to the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Thousands of volunteer members answered America's call to national service and sacrifice by accepting and performing critical wartime missions. Assigned to the War Department under the jurisdiction of the Army Air Corps, the contributions of Civil Air Patrol, including logging more than 500,000 flying hours and saving hundreds of crash victims during World War II, are well documented. After the war, a thankful nation understood that Civil Air Patrol could continue providing valuable services to both local and national agencies. On July 1, 1946, President Harry Truman signed Public Law 476 incorporating Civil Air Patrol as a benevolent, nonprofit organization. On May 26, 1948, Congress passed Public Law 557 permanently establishing Civil Air Patrol as the auxiliary of the new U.S. Air Force.

U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Miami employs a highly trained and exceptionally motivated crew of 339 personnel, comprised of 71 Officers, 255 Enlisted, and 13 Civilians. Its fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft conduct a variety of Coast Guard missions from Charleston, S.C. to Key West, and throughout the Caribbean Basin. Air Station (CGAS) Miami is located at Opa-Locka Executive Airport.
