Jeremiah Program offers one of the nation’s most successful strategies for transforming families from poverty to prosperity two generations at a time. Jeremiah’s proven, holistic approach begins with establishing a supportive community for determined single mothers to pursue a career-track college education. Through a combination of quality early childhood education, a safe and affordable place to live, and empowerment and life skills training, their families are stabilized and able to find a path out of poverty.
The Theater of Public Policy uses live improvisational theater to bring public policy issues and debates to life. Each show features a leading thinker on a particular issue. We'll interview each guest to find out their approach and solutions to a particular issue. All of the ideas and challenges brought up in this conversation serve as the inspiration for the improvised scenes to follow. The improvisers tasks are not be to make light of the issues or mock the players involved. Instead, scenes make the previous conversation come to life with living, breathing characters in the situations described. The scenes also explore what the implications of the problem and/or proposed solution might be.

Founded in 1949 as a separate non-profit dedicated to supporting the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra, the original name of our organization was the Women's Association of the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra, or WAMSO. Today, our name not only reflects the updated name of the Orchestra, but also the current composition of our members and volunteers: men and women from various backgrounds, from students to retirees. Since our inception, Friends of the Minnesota Orchestra has contributed more than 10 million dollars to the Minnesota Orchestra. We also coordinate 500+ volunteers, who donate more than 10,000 hours each year to fulfilling our mission.
More than 200 speakers have addressed the Forum during those 28 years, including Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Elie Wiesel, Isaac Bashevis Singer, Shirley Chisholm, Arthur Schlesinger, Ellen Goodman, Cornel West, Thomas Friedman, Robert Coles, Walter Mondale, Marian Wright Edelman, Edward Albee, Elaine Pagels, Salman Rushdie, and David Brooks.

Members are clinicians and professionals who share a common enthusiasm for furthering the understanding and application of psychoanalytic concepts to the practice of psychotherapy and psychoanalysis, and, as it applies, to related professions that enrich lives across culture and society. The Institute A provisional institute of the American Psychoanalytic Association, The Institute is dedicated to training future psychoanalysts. It offers an opportunity for clinicians to expand and deepen their professional skills based on psychoanalytic perspectives.
