The California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) is the nation’s largest public pension fund with approximately $301 billion in assets. These patients commonly referred to as Lanterman-Petris-Short commitments, can be held 72 hours for mental health evaluation and treatment. For 35 years, the California Housing Finance Agency (CalHFA) has supported the needs of renters and first-time homebuyers by providing financing and programs that create safe, decent and affordable housing opportunities for low and moderate income Californians. Established in 1975, CalHFA was chartered as the State’s affordable housing bank to make low interest rate loans through the sale of tax-exempt bonds. A completely self-supporting State agency, bonds are repaid by revenues generated through mortgage loans, not taxpayer dollars.

The West Sacramento Fire Department has the mission of protecting life, environment, and property within the City of West Sacramento. To effectively complete this mission, the Department has located five fire stations throughout the City, each of which houses one front line fire engine equipped to handle a variety of emergency calls. The five fire stations operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with a combined staffing of 19 personnel on duty. Firefighters work 48-hour tours of duty. There are three work groups called "shifts". Additionally, a Division Chief is assigned as Duty Chief to respond to all structure fires and other major emergencies to provide Incident Command and Scene Management. Outside the city limits, the Fire Department is responsible for the unincorporated area south of the City of West Sacramento boundary to Babel Slough Road and across to the old Arcade Station on Jefferson Blvd. The Fire Department has Automatic Aid agreements with several Yolo County Fire Departments, and with the City of Sacramento Fire Department. The Fire Department has three divisions, which provide a wide range of services for the community. These divisions are: Fire Administration, Emergency Operations, and Fire Prevention /Hazardous Materials.

On January 1, 2012, the Governor's Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities (GCEPD) will be transferred from the Employment Development Department to the Department of Rehabilitation. Along with the transfer, the name has been changed to the California Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities (CCEPD). With strong support of the California Health and Human Services Agency and the Department of Rehabilitation, the new committee will build upon the legacy of the Governor's Committee to further advance employment opportunities for people with disabilities in California. The California Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities is established in California statute to advance the employment of people with disabilities in the state. Policy-related responsibilities of the committee were first defined in the Workforce Inclusion Act (Aroner, Statutes of 2002) and amended as part of the Budget Act of 2011, under Assembly Bill 119. The primary function of the committee is to consult with and advise the Secretary of the Labor and Workforce Development Agency and the Secretary of the California Health and Human Services Agency on all issues related to full inclusion in the workforce of persons with disabilities.

The California State Teachers’ Retirement System is the largest educator-only pension fund in the world. CalSTRS administers a hybrid retirement system, consisting of traditional defined benefit, cash balance and voluntary defined contribution plans. The California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority) is responsible for planning, designing, building and operation of the first high-speed rail system in the nation. California high-speed rail will connect the mega-regions of the state, contribute to economic development and a cleaner environment, create jobs and preserve agricultural and protected lands. By 2029, the system will run from San Francisco to the Los Angeles basin in under three hours at speeds capable of over 200 miles per hour. The system will eventually extend to Sacramento and San Diego, totaling 800 miles with up to 24 stations. In addition, the Authority is working with regional partners to implement a state-wide rail modernization plan that will invest billions of dollars in local and regional rail lines to meet the state’s 21st century transportation needs.
