The Transamerica Pyramid is the tallest skyscraper in the San Francisco skyline. The building no longer houses the headquarters of the Transamerica Corporation, which moved its U.S. headquarters to Baltimore, Maryland, but it is still associated with the company and is depicted in the company's logo. Designed by architect William Pereira and built by Hathaway Dinwiddie Construction Company, at 853ft, on completion in 1972 it was the eighth tallest building in the world.HistoryThe Transamerica building was commissioned by Transamerica CEO John (Jack) R. Beckett, with the claim that he wished to allow light in the street below. Built on the site of the historic Montgomery Block, it has a structural height of 853ft and has 48 floors of retail and office space.Construction began in 1969 and finished in 1972, and was overseen by San Francisco-based contractor Dinwiddie Construction (now Hathaway Dinwiddie Construction Company). Transamerica moved its headquarters to the new building from across the street, where it had been based in a flatiron-shaped building now occupied by the Church of Scientology of San Francisco.
Washington Square is a park in the North Beach district of San Francisco, California, and is one of the city’s first parks, established in 1847. Juana Briones grew potatoes and raised cattle here, before Jasper O’Farrell laid out San Francisco’s street grid in 1847, and designated this block a city square. Later, neglected by the city, it was used as an unofficial dump bordering a cemetery. Improvements came slowly, but by the 1860s, it was used for Fourth of July celebrations, and later the square hosted Columbus Day celebrations and Italian festivals.Originally, it was a complete rectangle, all the way to Powell Street. But in 1873-1875, the City built Columbus Avenue, then known as Montgomery, cutting through the Square. Pier 35 is a pier in The Embarcadero, San Francisco, USA, just to the east of Pier 39. It is a major cruise ship terminal, and several cruise operators operate on Pier 35, notably Princess Cruises whose ships Star Princess, Sapphire Princess, and Sea Princess stop at the pier throughout the year. It contains a small lobby with a large archway at the front, where passengers entering from the Embarcadero go through security checks. On New Year's Eve 2009, a stabbing incident took place on the pier.

Amenities include an ample balcony overlooking Washington Square Park and Saint Peter and Paul church—a unique panorama that only our facility can offer. There is a wet bar, fireplace, high-definition television, projection video with large screen, and private restrooms. We also provide complimentary high-speed wireless internet for your connectivity needs. If additional space is needed, we have a gymnasium that can be utilized as a showroom, auction area or additional seating. There is an eight-person elevator that accesses the third floor, and our entire facility is ADA compliant. Pier 41 is a ferry terminal on Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco. The former headquarters of Blue & Gold Fleet, their box offices are now located at Pier 39.The Pier is located east of the Fisherman's Wharf district and to the west of Pier 39. The ferry terminal is close to North Beach, Chinatown, and the Embarcadero. The area is easily accessible via the historic F Market streetcars.From Pier 41 you can see Angel Island, Alcatraz, Golden Gate Bridge and Pier 39.There is service to the Oakland Ferry Terminal, the Sausalito Ferry Terminal, and the Ayala Cove Ferry Terminal on Angel Island.

This street is home to several notable venues, such as Jack Kerouac Alley, named for poet Jack Kerouac, City Lights Bookstore, Vesuvio Cafe, and Bimbo's 365 Club.The street's original name was Montgomery Avenue, and was built in the 1870s. The Summit is a highrise condominium tower developed by Joseph Eichler, located at the top of the upscale Russian Hill in San Francisco, California, at 999 Green Street. The tower was designed by Niell Smith and Associates. Above ground, it has 4 floors of parking and 25 floors of residential condominiums. The tower, completed in 1965, has some of San Francisco's most expensive and scenic condos.
