SNIA works closely with elected officials, police and other community leaders to better the quality of life in our neighborhood. Plus, we market the neighborhood to potential residents, through community events.
The Italian American Heritage Corporation is one of the oldest Italian American organization in the United States. It was organized on November 11, 1866 and was incorporated on December 6, 1866 it is composed of many St. Louis Italian-American Organizations, who joined together a number of years ago to ensure that there will always be a Columbus Day Parade. The first parade was organized by the Fratellanza Society in 1867 through the effort of an Italian settlement in downtown St Louis. The parade route started downtown and terminated at the statue of Chistopher Columbus ( donated by Henry Shaw ) in Tower Park. For many years it has been held on " The Hill" . The parade is always the highlight of the Columbus Day celebration by many Italian Organizations to promote the philosophy and culture of their heritage by participating in a Festa after the parade. The Festa is traditionally held in Berra Park.

The District was created in 2007 by City of St. Louis Board of Aldermand Bill #67593 for the five-year period beginning January 1, 2008 through December 31, 2012. The District Property is all of the property located within the City of St. Louis abutting the roadway commonly known as Flora Place together with any rear parcels that abut parcels abutting on Flora Place and bounded on the east by Grand Boulevard, on the west by Tower Grove Avenue, on the north by the east-west alleyways located in CB 4935, CB 4940, CB 4941, CB 4946, CB 4947, and CB 4952 (and excluding those properties north of such alley ways abutting Russell Boulevard ), and on the south by the east-west alleyways located in CB 4934, CB 4929, CB 4920, CB 4919, CB 2117, and CB 2118 (and excluding those properties south of such alleyways abutting Flad Avenue). The District is governed by a Board consisting of a President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and Block Captains from each block within the District. The Board meets five times a year or more at the house of the President. The Flora Place CID Board will meet in 2012 on the following schedule. St. Louis Community College ("STLCC") is the largest community college district in Missouri and one of the largest in the United States. Supported by the Junior College District of St. Louis City - St. Louis County, it was the first district in the United States to simultaneously construct three campuses through a $47.2 million bond issue approved in 1965, the largest in the history of the nation's community college development at the time. STLCC serves its student body through four campuses and four satellite facilities, offering college-transfer options and career programs in areas such as art and design, business, engineering and technology, developmental and continuing education.
Founded in 1991 by two M.D/Ph.D. students, the Young Scientist Program is designed to attract high school students from disadvantaged backgrounds into scientific careers through activities emphasizing hands-on research and individualized contact between young people and active scientists.
A collaborative, interdisciplinary approach to research and education is a hallmark of Washington University and the Division. As a university-wide consortium, the Division transcends departmental lines and removes traditional boundaries of scientific fields. Faculty and graduate students regularly cross disciplines, devising novel questions and approaches that might otherwise go unexplored.
