O'Gara's Bar and Grill

Saint Paul, MN 55104

In March of 1941, James Freeman O’Gara opened the doors of this tavern providing a wholesome atmosphere for conversation and camaraderie. Initially food and liquor was served to the local residents who fought World War II at home by manufacturing supplies and munitions for those overseas. You could even get a haircut from Carl Schulz, whose son, Charles gained international fame with the cartoon strip “Peanuts.” Schulz’s original shop was located in what is now the Shamrock Room. Gradually, the O’Gara reputation for serving excellent food and drink at a fair price became known and has ensured an ever-growing trade. In fact, O’Gara’s is the oldest family owned operation of its kind in Saint Paul still at the original location. Several people lay claim to employment at O’Gara’s of 35 years or more. The bar has always been an Irish haunt by virtue of its name and clientele, but the family has burnished that image over the years, and they’ve seen the bar become perhaps the busiest place in town on St. Patrick’s Day. The tradition continues with the third generation of the O’Gara clan. Dan, Tim’s son, started learning the business at an early age and grew to share the same passion for providing great food, fine spirits, and entertainment to thousands of people. Dan and his wife Kris now carry on the O’Gara’s tradition since Tim’s retirement in March of 2003. The expansion of O’Gara’s is the fulfillment of a dream by Tim, who succeeded his father Jim in 1972. Tim’s knowledge and desire to satisfy has resulted in the expansion of new rooms, including the Shamrock Room and The Shanty. The main bar, The Shamrock Room, established in 1982, hosts jazz/big bands and acoustic sing along music with traditional O’Gara hospitality. This room has played host to many banquets and private parties. O’Gara’s Garage was established in 1985 and renovated in 2011 to become The Shanty, one of St. Paul’s premiere music clubs, featuring the Twin Cities finest local/national acts. You can also find O'Gara's at the MSP Airport in concourse F, and at the Minnesota State Fair.

Saint Paul, MN 55104

The Historic Triune Masonic Temple is a meetinghouse of Freemasonry in Saint Paul, Minnesota, United States, built in 1910 in the Neo-Classical Revival style, designed by Henry C. Struchen (1871–1947). The structure was built for Triune Lodge No. 190, AF & AM. It is one of the earliest and best preserved buildings erected exclusively for the use of a single Masonic Lodge. Henry Struchen, although not an architect, was a contractor and designer. He was a member of Triune Lodge and a prominent builder in the city.Opening ceremonies for the building were held Thursday, March 2, 1911. Triune Masonic Temple was recognized for its historic and architectural significance by being placed on the National Register of Historic Places on November 13, 1980.Stylistically the temple is a good example of the Neo-Classical Revival of the opening decades of the twentieth century. The exterior is virtually unchanged while the interior retains its classic integrity and remains substantially intact. The front facade features four Doric columns, pedimented windows and a decorative cornice, while the lodge room itself is adorned with stately pillars representing the five classical orders of architecture. The front of the building gives a hint of the grandeur inside. The interior cherry and maple woodwork and many of the original furnishings remain. The building is notable because it incorporates elements of Masonic ritual into its architectural design. The Historic Triune Masonic Temple is the last remaining historic Masonic temple within the cities of Saint Paul and Minneapolis. The Temple is the home of Saint Paul Lodge Number Three A. F. & A. M. of Minnesota.

MN Ice Sculptures originated with two young and ambitious students from the University of St. Thomas with 7+ years of experience in the ice sculpting industry. Robbie Harrell and Stu Lombardo founded MN Ice Sculptures during the summer of 2013. During their experience, Robbie and Stu recognized that the ice sculpting industry has an absence of young enterprising individuals who are truly passionate about serving customers rather than just sculpting ice. Without the help and guidance from their family, friends, professors, mentors, and other sculptors, this endeavor would not have been possible. Currently, Robbie and Stu are completing their undergraduate degrees at the University of St. Thomas. Robbie is majoring in entrepreneurship and is a business consultant specializing in social media, website and I.T. development, point-of-sale deployment, and graphic design. Stu is a dual major in business administration and mechanical engineering with an emphasis in manufacturing and operations management. By combining their business experience and engineering skills, Robbie and Stu built a computer numerically controlled (CNC) ice carver to produce ice sculptures. Amidst a market dominated by hand sculptors, MN Ice Sculptures stands apart from the competition by owning the only CNC ice carver in Minnesota. With their primary use of CNC technology, MN Ice Sculptures can repeatedly deliver quality sculptures.
