Overview: The re-engagement center is a cross-agency collaboration focused on the re-engagement of chronically truant and out of school youth. The center will serve as a location for families and youth seeking support to re-enroll in school as well as a catchment center where families and community organizations may drop off school-aged youth found on the street during school hours. - The center will help to reduce violent crimes by shrinking the number of youth roaming the street during school hours, thus decreasing the opportunity for these youth to engage in criminal acts. - The center will decrease dropout rates by providing re-enrollment services for drop-outs. - The center will decrease chronic truancy by providing case management services to youth dealing with non-academic reasons for missing school.
