The Heart Smith Ranch was originally formed in 2001 when we first bought our first stallion (and our main man) George Yellow Hand. We bought him as a weanling site unseen, and planned on adding 4 broodmares. That added to our regular riding horses set us at 7 horses at that time, and we named our ranch the Lucky 7 Ranch. As time went on and our breeding program began to flourish, we increased in the number of broodmares and added cows to the plan. In 2010, we changed our name to the Heart Smith Ranch, as we registered a brand that tied us together as a family for a life long legacy we pray Trena and her family will carry on. Now we have several carefully selected broodmares and 3 stallions that we are standing at the ranch. We also are increasing our cattle program. We have been able to save a couple of our colts back for our own personal use, and are enjoying competing on them. Our mission is to offer the top quality foundation bred horses to the people wanting a quiet minded, proper conformation, pretty to look at, go all day kind of horse that you can ranch on, trail ride on, or go show, run barrels, rope or just take hunting.
