The Santa Cruz Greek Festival is Santa Cruz's longest running festival. We're celebrating our 34th year of serving authentic Greek cuisine, spirits, music and dancing. Over the years, the festival has grown from a humble festival in the back of the church to a huge block party, where approximately 15,000 people attend over three days! We are very honored to have such devoted fans who come back year after year not only for the food (although it is fabulous!), but for the "filoxenia" or hospitality shown to everyone. Please join us for live bouzouki music, dancing, authentic food and desserts, and perhaps a little taste of ouzo or restina? Eat Like A Greek for a day!

LionFish SupperClub was born out of need to explore the power of food, community, exquisite taste and playful presentations. Created by Tighe Melville in 2013, the offerings expanded greatly when Chef Zachary Mazi (Best Personal Chef in Santa Cruz 2014; Food Is Medicine) joined the team. We are dedicated to sourcing organic, seasonal, foraged and local foods whenever possible, and pushing the possibilities of fine dining in our area, making long-lasting connections within the community, collaborating in every sense of the word, and spreading the gospel of peak dining experiences worldwide! The 8-year anniversary of this unique art festival. Saturday and Sunday Nov 7th & 8th, 10-5pm each day. Admission is $5 of which 10% is donated to the Monterey Bay Sanctuary! Started in 2009 the Santa Cruz Sea Glass & Ocean Art Festival features genuine sea glass and artist-made creations, while benefiting our local marine environment. Since 2009, Santa Cruz Sea Glass is honored to have raised over $10,000 in donations to local ocean conservation, supporting the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary whom is dedicated to educating people about the preservation and conservation of our amazing Oceans. Last year we had a record breaking attendance and over 40 amazing artists coming from all over the world. We are working hard to advertise the event throughout the Bay Area and California. Admission includes an entry for the amazing FREE hourly raffle for a chance to win dozens of amazing wares from our artists. Kids under 6 free. New Teacher Center focuses on improving student learning by accelerating the effectiveness of new teachers. NTC partners with states, school districts, and policymakers to design and implement systems that create sustainable, high-quality mentoring and professional development; build local leadership capacity; work to enhance teaching conditions; improve teacher retention; and transform schools into vibrant learning communities where all students succeed.

What makes WNA successful? First, the individual person and how they present their business, support their fellow members and participate is critical. Members must attend the meetings, should provide the right marketing tools and education so the other members understand how to speak to their products, programs or services and lastly, should look for opportunities for each other. Second, a desire to share ideas in all facets of our business, a willingness to speak to wins/losses's and the courage to speak up when you are struggling will allow the entire group to easily grow together personally and professionally. Lastly, having an extreme level of honesty, integrity and trust is absolutely required. We are sharing a lot of personal information amongst the group and we must feel we can trust that our "sharing" is kept confidential and not shared with anyone, especially in the form of gossip.

We think that libraries are vital assets to any community. That's why we love the Santa Cruz Public Libraries. We lend a hand by fund-raising for them, providing volunteer services for them and advocating for them. You must love the Santa Cruz Public Libraries too because without you, we could not be here. Through your membership fees with and donations to the FSCPL, you financially support the Santa Cruz Public Libraries’ programs, services and media. Thank you for your support! You may have seen our enormous Book Sale at the Civic Auditorium. As fun as that sale is, we can only host it twice a year. However, throughout the year, we also run the Friends Bookshop in the Central Library Branch. See you there!

In 2011, Friends of the Santa Cruz Public Library (FSCPL) and the Santa Cruz Public Library (SCPL) partnered to successfully compete for a National Endowment for the Arts Big Read grant, and Santa Cruz Reads was formed. In 2012, the partners once again received an NEA Big Read grant, this time to celebrate John Steinbeck’s Grapes of Wrath, with a series of events throughout the community and in area schools in February and March of 2013.

Guided by a 40-year commitment to social justic and access to health care as a human right, Santa Cruz Community Health Centers is a leading nonprofit provider of high quality primary care to women, children, and men. We operate two clinics: the Santa Cruz Women's Health Center and the East Cliff Family Health Center.

A warm and welcoming community in the heart of Santa Cruz. The Greek Orthodox Church is noted for its beautiful iconography. Every September the community hosts a Greek Food Festival on the streets outside the church. In the spring the parish hosts a Greek Food Faire.

Through an innovative partnership with California State Parks known as the “Friends Model,” and by leveraging local community support, Friends has provided millions of dollars of funding for educational programs, visitor services and capital projects. The Friends Model significantly extends the reach of State Parks in the areas of education and interpretation, capital improvements, park maintenance and public safety. Friends leverages strong local support from business partners, grants and Friends members to fund programs and projects. Friends‚ Facebook fans and followers on Twitter and Pinterest are an engaged, active community in support of our mission. And proceeds from sales at 5 Friends ParkStores, as well as the ParkStore Online, also support park programs and improvements. The state legislature has indicated a desire for more entrepreneurial practices and incentive-based strategies at the local level. The Friends Model has been proven over the past 26 years and is consistent with the growing interest in innovative, enterprise-driven models in support of our state parks. Highlights of what the Friends Model accomplished last year: -Supported operations at 32 state parks and beaches in Santa Cruz and San Mateo Counties -Funded all education and interpretive services provided by state employees -Funded operations to keep Santa Cruz Mission State Historic Park open -Provided over 100 local jobs at peak season and funded the second largest volunteer program in State Parks -Funded key projects on behalf of State Parks, such as restoration of the historic Castro Adobe -Served 8,334 students through the Friends-funded “PORTS” program (Parks Online Resources for Teachers & Students) The Friends Model is anchored by innovative tools that are unique and were developed during ongoing budget cuts and the Great Recession. Two specific examples include propriety online tools that 1) track and report daily receipts from state park entrance kiosks, and 2) monitor staff scheduling in order to maximize yields and provide excellent customer service. Friends tools move beyond current industry standards that are inefficient, reducing human error associated with manual data entry and math calculations, and taking advantage of the security and convenience benefits of cloud-based computing. These innovations, an entrepreneurial spirit and a strong sense of collaboration with State Parks have produced many benefits, chief among them a significant increase in transparency and access to data, tighter integration with State Parks, and most importantly, steady revenue growth that supports the delivery of vital services and improvements for local parks and beaches.

The Love Foundation is a network of students, musicians and artists who together organize a variety of innovative events. The goal behind these events is fundraising money for water development projects and spreading the universal idea of LOVE. These events can have manifold looks: they can be parties, art exhibitions or any other kind of activity that combines creativity with fun for everyone whilst doing something good for the world. This non-profit Foundation has been created by two students from Maastricht University, and is actively branching out from Maastricht to the areas of Berlin and Santa Cruz. All money generated by the LOVE Foundation is donated to the German social entrepreneurship Viva con Agua, which, in close cooperation with the German NGO Welthungerhilfe, implements projects in uprising countries such as India or Burkina Faso. These projects are designed for giving access to clean drinking water and a good sanitation system, in addition to education about everyday hygiene when using these installations. The funds raised by the LOVE Foundation contribute directly to achieving these goals.
