The Burnham Park Yacht Club represents more than a building, docks and grounds to serve its members, it is a connection between men and women who have worked during the last sixty six years to honor the original Club goals identified in the September 14, 1938 papers of its incorporation. These original goals have been honored and have been broadened as expansion and changes came to the Club facilities and to Burnham Harbor. The Burnham Park Yacht Club is situated in the newly configured Museum Campus Area of Chicago's lakefront and is located on Northerly Island which forms the Eastern shore of Burnham Harbor, the most sheltered harbor in Chicago. The clubhouse provides views facing the harbor offering magnificent views of the harbor activity as well as a panoramic vista of Chicago's skyline, said to be the most exquisite view of Chicago.
PianoForte provides performance opportunities and much-needed exposure to exceptional pianists emerging on the national and international scene, and continues to feature some of Chicago’s favorite and best-known artists in an intimate setting. We facilitate interaction between artists and audience during performances, ensuring that audience members have personal, engaging learning experiences and leave with a heightened appreciation for piano music. We seek high caliber professionals who perform repertoire from Baroque to Contemporary and Jazz and exhibit great variety in our programming. The Foundation broadcasts lunch hour concerts the first Friday of every month on 98.7 WFMT, Chicago's Fine Arts Station, and occasional special broadcasts on 90.9 WDCB, Chicago's only jazz station.
Since its inception in 2001, more than 20,000 participants, raising more than $3.5 million net, have converged in Grant Park to get moving against HIV/AIDS. For the last 22 years, the ABC7 Gibbons 5K Run and 3K Walk has proven itself as a landmark event in the Chicagoland area and is a major fundraiser for the Leukemia Research Foundation. Each year on the third Thursday evening in June, more than 2,000 people gather along Chicago’s downtown lakefront to run, walk and raise funds in search of a cure for all blood cancers.
Benefiting the Greater South Loop Association, this lively, colorful festival mirrors the South Loops’ vibrancy, offering something for everyone. BOW features a kid’s area, vendors, fresh roasted corn and sangria. To top it off, revelers will enjoy high quality live tunes!
MPT II is a 21-story contemporary glass and concrete tower located at 1335 S. Prairie Avenue, just a block from the Museum Campus and scenic lakefront. It was completed in 2003. The amenities of the association includes a beautiful rooftop pool and sundeck, plus an exercise center, 24-hour doorman, and garage parking.

The Center for Book & Paper Arts (CBPA) at Columbia College Chicago is one of the largest and most comprehensive book art facilities in the world. The Center has a large exhibition space where we organize an international triennial of contemporary book and paper art, and inaugurate and host national traveling exhibitions and exhibit student and faculty work. The Center for Book & Paper Arts is home to facilities and studios for the MFA in Book & Paper students, which are also utilized for community classes. It consists of a print facility which includes letterpress and offset, a papermaking studio, a bookbindery, a gallery, a multi-purpose classroom, which is suitable for performance and lectures, a critique room, studio space for artists, a resource room, and offices for the staff. The center also offers a summer residency program, intended to provide an artist time, facilities and assistance to realize a specific project.
To provide the community and patrons a vehicle through which information and feedback regarding operation and improvement of both the Chicago Women’s Park and Gardens park and Field House, including: * Park programming offerings, quality, and balance for all users * Park maintenance deficiencies and opportunities * Park capital improvements, beautification, and public art opportunities * Park operational resources including staffing, equipment, and operation budget * Concession operation, feedback, improvements or proposed changes * Opportunities for special events, open houses, movies, fairs, and holiday parties * Advocate for the development of partnership programming and community activities such as garden clubs & walks, movies, youth programs, and senior events
