Offering fine, folky, and funky art, from the US, Canada and beyond, since 1995. Yard Dog Gallery is a unconventional gallery in Austin, Texas, that shows work by unconventional artists from the US & Canada. The gallery opened in 1995, showing folk and outsider art from the Deep South. We rather quickly began adding work by artists whose work we loved and wanted to show and that fit in aesthetically alongside what we were already showing, but who were neither folk/outsider artists nor from the Deep South. So we dropped the categories. We haven't called ourselves a folk art gallery for a long time but the world still seems to think of us that way. That's ok. We show the work of a number of artists who are also rather well-know musicians, including Jon Langford, Tom Russell, Bob Schneider, Ian McLagan, & Jad Fair. Other artists include Mike Egan, Brad & Sundie Ruppert, Kurt Herrmann, Scott Griffin, Bill Miller, Jennifer Harrison, Eric Bellis, Lamar Sorrento & more. Plus we still have a collection of Southern folk & outsider artists, including Jimmy Lee Sudduth, Mose Tolliver, Howard Finster, & Artist Chuckie Williams. We're located in the heart of the S. Congress Ave. shopping district -- a great place to spend some time.

They bring together original oils, pastels, lithographs, etchings, aquatints, pencil and ink, woodcuts and mezzotints to name a few. The gallery is also committed to infusing our permanent holdings with fresh offerings of contemporary artists and sculptors such as Royo, Frederick Hart, Ash Almonte, Court Lurie, Maxine Price, John Petrey, Ray Donley, Olga Porter, JD Miller, Alexandra Eldridge, Cody Hopper, Michael Kessler, Michael Klung and Brad Ellis.
Austin Creative Art Center is an educational fine arts school that gives instruction to guide individuals through creative processes that enhance understanding of art and design and reveal personal and cultural connections. ACAC was founded with the belief that art is universal and fundamental to communication and culture. The process of visually expressing yourself can open doors that lead to deeper consciousness and emotional, spiritual, physical and intellectual faculties. Creating art helps you discover who you really are - beyond boundaries, beyond limitations and beyond definitions. Communicating through fine art is the most ancient form of human expression - crossing language barriers and providing global connections of minds and hearts. ACAC's curriculum provides learning opportunities that guide students through the fundamentals of art. The goal is to develop technical skills, learn art history and explore contemporary culture to inspire students to see the world in innovative ways. “Our philosophy is simple - we teach individuals not only the tools for success in the way they express art, but also tools for success in how they express life,” said the founder of ACAC Zoey Upshaw. ACAC guides all ages how to create fine art - offering imaginative concepts, quality tools and techniques to expand the mind, enhance critical thinking and provide a greater understanding of life’s possibilities. The ACAC curriculum teaches students how to paint, draw, sculpt, print and so much more through class instruction and individual attention. Students become immersed in projects - producing masterpieces that affirm creative processes, build self-confidence and broaden horizons.
