The NRG Arena, formerly the "Astroarena" and the "Reliant Arena", is a 350,000 square feet sports center in NRG Park, in Houston, Texas, USA. It is one of the state's major arenas and convention centers.Building formatThe NRG Arena consists of multiple rooms and divisions on two separate floors.The main partition on the first floor is the "Arena Proper", a 24,000 gross square foot arena that seats up to 8,500 people. While dwarfed by the stadiums within the complex (the NRG Astrodome seats 60,000 and NRG Stadium seats 70,000) as well as other arenas in the city (the Toyota Center seats 18,500, TDECU Stadium seats 40,000, and Minute Maid Park seats 42,000), it serves as an ideal location for events that cannot possibly fill such large arenas.In addition to the Arena Proper, there are four exhibit halls within the NRG Arena. The largest hall is Exhibit Hall D, boasting 100000sqft of space. The second is Exhibit Hall A, which has 75000sqft of space. Exhibit Halls B and C each have 50000sqft of floor space as well.The upper level maintains smaller meeting rooms and office space as well as the "Stockman's Club".HistoryConstruction of the NRG Arena originated in the early 1970s and completed in 1974 adjacent to the Astrohall. Although the Astrohall (renamed Reliant Hall temporarily) was its next door neighbor, it was demolished in May 2002 to make way for a parking lot when NRG Stadium was being completed.

The BP MS 150 is a two-day fundraising cycling ride organized by the National MS Society. This ride is the largest event of its kind in North America. The 2013 BP MS 150 set a new fundraising record by raising more than $18 million and bringing hope to many who are living with multiple sclerosis. The two-day ride is a 180-mile journey for MS that starts in Houston and ends in Austin. Breakpoints are positioned every 8-15 miles. The ride begins Saturday morning at three convenient starting points: Omni Westside Hotel in Houston, Rhodes Stadium in Katy and Waller Stadium in Waller. Riders follow scenic roads into Bellville for lunch. Day One ends at the Fayette County Fairgrounds overnight in La Grange. On Sunday morning Club 300 members lead the mass on one of two routes that lead to Bastrop Intermediate School for lunch from the fairgrounds. Take the Bechtel Challenge Route and enjoy the rolling terrain of Bastrop and Buescher State Parks or bypass the parks via the Pfizer Lunch Express Route. The final leg of Day Two takes riders into Austin for exciting Finish Line festivities at the capital.

The NRG Center is a convention center in Houston, Texas, United States. It is part of the NRG Park complex that was constructed around the NRG Astrodome and NRG Stadium. The NRG Center hosts various events year-round, including portions of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, who maintains its offices on the second floor of the building. Reliant Park is an island platformed METRORail light rail station in Houston, Texas, United States. The station was opened on January 1, 2004, and is operated by the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County, Texas (METRO). The station is located at the intersection of Fannin Street and Holly Hall Street, next to NRG Park. (The station, interestingly, continues to bear its former name despite Reliant Park changing its name to NRG Park in 2014.) This station is decorated with various photographs from The Astrodome's history including the Rodeo, the Houston Astros and an Elvis concert.Points of interest near Reliant Park Station include convention and entertainment facilities such as the Astrodome, NRG Stadium, NRG Arena and NRG Center. The station served Six Flags Astroworld until the park closed in October 2005. The station also serves commuters working downtown or in the Texas Medical Center area, many of whom live in large apartment and condominium complexes located nearby.Reliant Park Station includes the only closed platform in the system. The station has a second platform on the Southbound Side opposite the island platform that is not in use.
