The Universal Orlando Resort, commonly known as Universal Orlando, is a theme park resort in Orlando, Florida. It is wholly owned by NBCUniversal and its affiliates. Universal Orlando is the second-largest resort in Greater Orlando after Walt Disney World.Universal Orlando consists of two theme parks (Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure), a night-time entertainment complex (Universal CityWalk Orlando), and five Loews Hotels (Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, Hard Rock Hotel, Loews Royal Pacific Resort, Cabana Bay Beach Resort and Loews Sapphire Falls Resort.HistoryUniversal Orlando opened in 1990 as the theme park Universal Studios Florida. It was opened as a joint venture between Universal Entertainment and The Blackstone Group. The park in direct competition with Disney-MGM Studios (now called Disney's Hollywood Studios).In 1994, executives started planning the expansion of the resort into a multi-day vacation destination. In late 1995, construction began on a new park, Islands of Adventure. The Islands of Adventure Preview Center opened in May 1997 replacing the Screen Test Home Video Adventure. During this time several new attractions were being built and opened at Universal Studios Florida, including Woody Woodpecker's KidZone, which opened in 1998, Men in Black: Alien Attack and Animal Actors (formerly Animal Planet Live).
Beetlejuice's Graveyard Mash-Up or Beetlejuice's Rockin' Graveyard Revue or Universal Monsters Live Rock and Roll Show is a live stage show based on the film of the same name and Universal's Classic Monsters. It is located at Universal Studios Japan, and formerly at Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Studios Florida. The venue at the Hollywood park was removed in 1999, and replaced by Spider-Man Rocks.On August 25, 2015, Universal announced that the show at Universal Studios Florida would be "closing later this year" to make way for Fast & Furious: Supercharged. Loyal fans of the show have launched campaigns online and via social media to prevent its closure. In just the first 48 hours, over 750 signatures were collected for an online petition. The show ultimately closed on January 5, 2016.HistoryThe attraction opened at both Universal Studios Florida and Universal Studios Hollywood in 1992. The Florida venue replaced An American Tail Theatre which was opened at the park in 1991, and the Hollywood venue replaced The Adventures of Conan: A Sword and Sorcery Spectacular, which opened in the Castle Theater in 1983. It was once located in a small outdoor theater (where Super Silly Fun Land is currently occupied) before moving indoors in 1995.The venue at Universal Studios Florida was refurbished in 1994, to include the addition of a canopy to block the sun. Since 2002, the show itself has undergone a number of revamps, when more modern songs and costumes were added. In addition, The Phantom of the Opera was replaced by Hip and Hop, Beetlejuice's Translyvanian cheerleaders.
Universal's Islands of Adventure is a theme park in Orlando, Florida. It opened on May 28, 1999, along with CityWalk, as part of an expansion that converted Universal Studios Florida into the Universal Orlando Resort. The slogan for this theme park, along with Universal Studios Florida, is Vacation Like You Mean It, introduced in 2013 as Universal Orlando Resort.The park's overall theme is that of a journey of exploration, where guests depart from a main port to visit themed islands, all emphasizing adventure. Initially, the park had six islands. On June 18, 2010, the seventh island, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, officially opened at the park. This is Universal's largest investment since opening. In 2013, Islands of Adventure hosted approximately 8.1 million guests, ranking it seventh among United States parks and eleventh worldwide. The eighth island, Skull Island, opened on July 13, 2016.Licensed properties included at Islands of AdventureLike Universal Studios Florida next door, Islands of Adventure has not limited itself to Universal's own library, because it licensed other characters from rival studios, many of whom did not own theme parks of their own, as attractions and lands. Some of these include: Dr. Seuss properties Popeye (King Features Syndicate) Marvel Comics (Marvel Entertainment).
Hollywood Drive-In Golf has successfully combined conventional miniature golf with extensive theme elements and creativity to create an unforgettable miniature golf experience. Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts is an indoor steel roller coaster at Universal Studios Florida, a theme park located within the Universal Orlando Resort. Similar to dark rides, the roller coaster utilizes special effects in a controlled-lighting environment and also employs motion-based 3-D projection of both animation and live-action sequences to enhance the experience. The ride, which is themed to the Gringotts Wizarding Bank, became the flagship attraction for the expanded Wizarding World of Harry Potter when it opened on July 8, 2014.HistoryUniversal Parks & Resorts, in partnership with Warner Bros., officially announced the addition of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter to Islands of Adventure on May 31, 2007. The area officially opened in the Islands of Adventure theme park on June 18, 2010. The Harry Potter-themed area saw attendance at Islands of Adventure rise by as much as 36% in 2010. According to Jason Garcia of the Orlando Sentinel, this led to resort executives pondering "when to expand Wizarding World and how to keep business balanced between Islands and Universal Studios Florida". In April 2011, Brady MacDonald of the Los Angeles Times speculated that an area expansion would include the addition of Diagon Alley and a Gringotts-themed dark ride in place of the Lost Continent themed area in the park.
Orlando Flying Trapeze is a part of Orlando Circus School We offer professional and recreational Flying Trapeze classes and activities to people of all ages. We also host Birthday Parties and all your special events. We are Orlando's only indoor and air conditioned Flying Trapeze School. Our classes are taught by current and former artists and coaches from Cirque du Soleil's "La Nouba. " As well as performers from numerous other professional Flying Trapeze acts. Classes are currently held every Saturday 10:00-12:00 and 12:00-2:00. Monday and Wednesday nights 7:30-9:30. More class times will be added soon. Private classes can be scheduled any time.
