At the undergraduate level, the Department of Theatre & Dance offers a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Theatre. Within the degree, there are five tracks. They are: Acting/Directing, Musical Theatre, Design/Technical, Pre-Teaching and Dance Theatre. The five tracks share a core curriculum of theatre arts courses while allowing students to extend study in their specific field of interest. Undergraduate students from other majors may also share in our interdisciplinary activities by choosing to minor, or concentrate, in theatre or dance. At the graduate level, two programs are offered. The Master of Science in Teaching (MST) in Theatre offers teaching certification through a BA/MST program, consisting of the Pre-Teaching Track in the BA program and the MST Theatre Education program in the College of Graduate and Continuing Education. The Master of Arts (MA) in Theatre: Arts Administration is a new, online Masters program offered through the College of Graduate and Continuing Education.

The Rowan University Reading Clinic has served Glassboro and surrounding communities for many years, offering assessment and tutoring for children that struggle with reading and writing. Rowan students, specializing in reading instruction, serve as tutors in the clinic. Each clinic participant undergoes an initial reading evaluation to determine his or her individual strengths and weaknesses. A retest is administered at the end of the clinic to measure the student's progress. The dual purpose of the clinic is to provide literary assessment and instruction to students grades 1-12, while providing opportunities for Rowan University students to develop skills as teachers of reading and writing. All children are provided individualized tutoring in reading by tutors who have advanced training in the correction of reading difficulties. All tutors are supervised by Rowan University faculty. The content of instruction and methods are selected from research based effective practices. Tutoring is either one-to-one or two-to-one. Upon entry each child is given diagnostic tests to determine current reading levels and strengths and weaknesses in reading. Instruction is focused on correcting problems in word recognition, comprehension, and writing. Children are tutored in the Rowan University’s Reading Clinic in Glassboro, NJ twice a week during the university’s fall and spring semesters and four times a week in the summer session.
