Castor Hall is a tradional-style residence hall in the Argos Complex. It houses approximately 360 students in a traditional-style building where bedrooms open off of a common hallway. It is single-sex by wing. Residents share a community bathroom located at the center of each wing.
The Outdoor Recreation Center is open Monday through Friday from 9:00am-6:30pm for the Fall 2013 and Spring 2014 Semesters, and Monday & Friday 9am-6:30pm for Summer 2014. The Borrow Our Bikes Program is Located in the ORC.
Many years ago, Bull Market started on MLK Plaza, then moved to Sessum’s Mall near Cooper Hall. Now, that the Marshall Student Center has opened a new plaza where the old University Center/Marshall Center stood, the Bull Market is back where it started. Every Wednesday during the Fall and Spring semesters the market is filled with students, staff and faculty who were eager to find a bargain, eat lunch , attend an event, or promote their organization. The market is open from 9:00am to 4:00pm every Wednesday and we would love to have you come out and enjoy the fun!!

Built in 2000, Holly Apartments is comprised of seven three- and four-story buildings and is located on East Holly Drive. It houses approximately 728 students. Each apartment unit offers four single bedrooms sharing a living area with kitchenette and two bathrooms. The hall is coed with four single-sex students sharing one individual unit. Holly Apartments is home to the Global Citizenship LLC.

This year, we have introduced a new accelerated B.S.to M.S. degree program that allows especially talented students to get both a B.S. and a non-thesis M.S. degree in five years. The Department of Physics at the University of South Florida is rapidly growing both in size and in national recognition. Currently, approximately 34 faculty and 86 graduate students are involved in research projects in many areas of applied physics: Biophysics, Biomedical Physics, Atomic, Molecular, Optical Physics, Solid State, Material Physics and Physics Education. The Department of Physics at USF offers a unique environment for interdisciplinary doctoral training in Applied Physics. Located in a dynamic urban area, the campus includes the College of Arts and Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine with this research setting greatly enhanced by adjacent institutions including, for example, the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and research Institute. There are very few locations in the country that equal this setting for graduate training in the broad application of physics to real-world problems.
On Monday, February 13, the Florida Senate announced a proposal for budget cuts to the University of South Florida. This proposal suggests reducing USF's budget by 72%. Obviously, this would be devastating in many ways to USF, the Tampa Bay community, and most importantly to USF's students. If this budget proposal is approved we can be sure that the prices of many items such as food, parking, housing, and tuition will increase. Many of the activities offered across campus will most likely be stopped. Worst of all, classes and programs could be cut. Now is the time to act. J.D. Alexander is pushing this budget cut in spite of the USF Polytechnic issue. We, the students of the University of South Florida and, the citizens of the Tampa Bay community, need to come together and let our voices be heard that this is NOT right and we will NOT stand for it. Our student body and surrounding community needs to show this Florida Senate what it means to be a USF Bull. The School of Architecture and Community Design emphasizes architecture and community design proficiency, technical competency, and applied research that constitutes thorough preparation for practice into the 21st century. The school seeks to create environments in which students and faculty can: experience and appreciate the poetry of architecture; study the myriad forms of community and human habitat; understand how past designs can inform future possibilities; master the technologies necessary to create a sound, ecological world; develop a vision of what such a world might be; assume leadership roles in helping achieve this vision. The school also aims to increase the general understanding of environmental design through undergraduate education courses, public events and exhibitions, and dialogue about emerging issues and it develops and transmits new knowledge through advanced certificate programs and continuing education programs. The School of Architecture and Community Design (SACD) and the Florida Center for Community Design and Research (FCCDR) were both established in 1986 to study, promote, and educate both students and citizens in the field of sustainable community design and development. Students enrolled in one of the Architecture degree programs or employed in the Florida Center bring with them diverse educational and professional experiences in a variety of disciplines from anthropology and geology to biology and engineering. Together, they create an ambience in which varied aspects of design, planning, development, history, culture, economy and the environment are explored as one comprehensive entity within a framework provided by one of the world’s most comprehensive professions: architecture.
