Hamline Law is accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA) and is a member of the Association of American Law Schools (AALS). It offers a broad curriculum with opportunities to focus within 12 areas of legal specialty, as well as two nationally ranked Centers of Excellence, the Dispute Resolution Institute and the Health Law Institute. Hamline University Theatre is a learner-centered program, merging theory and action. Embracing the rich artistic culture of the Twin Cities, our theatre not only works within the academic setting, but extends into the environments surrounding it. Outside endeavors for students include traveling children’s shows, guest artists and performers, as well as performance and internship opportunities in area theatres.The Anne Simley Theatre’s long past influences our present productions, encouraging students and staff to uphold our history of dramatic experimentation. In 1930, Hamline’s theatre program began with a $150 budget and a platform stage. Now in our 84th season, we have expanded to include an in depth work study program, TV and recording studios, a script library, and a modern proscenium stage. Hamline Martial Arts Club (HMAC) is the Official Martial Arts Club of Hamline University in Saint Paul, Minnesota. We are dedicated to the lifelong training of martial arts and the betterment of oneself. Everyone's martial journey starts in a different place and we are here to facilitate that beginning and/or continuation for the students, faculty, and staff of Hamline University. We host internationally renown martial art instructors for seminars/workshops as well as have regular training on campus at Hamline University. Founded in 2001 by three college students in Illinois, Colleges Against Cancer has grown to include 500 chapters across the country, including Hamline University! Relay For Life is an annual event sponsored by the American Cancer Society to spread awareness and provide encouragement to those affected by cancer. The event takes the form of a twelve hour fundraiser where teams of varying sizes WALK the track in a relay fashion (at least one person on the track from each team at all times). This is an overnight event because people affected by cancer cannot simply go to bed to escape the fact; cancer doesn't go away simply because they are tired, and neither will our support for our friends, family, and anyone else we know who may have been affected by cancer. What Happens at a Relay Event There are many moments that create the Relay experience. Specific details vary by event. But the key moments that all events share in common are listed below: Survivors Lap Relay starts with a Survivors Lap – an inspirational time when survivors are invited to circle the track together and help everyone celebrate the victories we’ve achieved over cancer. We also recognize and celebrate caregivers at Relay For Life. These individuals give their time, love, and support to friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers who face cancer. Luminaria Ceremony After dark, we honor people who have been touched by cancer and remember loved ones lost to the disease during the Luminaria Ceremony. Candles are lit inside bags filled with sand, each one bearing the name of a person touched by cancer, and participants often walk a lap in silence. Fight Back Ceremony Last, there is a Fight Back Ceremony, where we make a personal commitment to save lives by taking up the fight against cancer. That personal commitment may be to do something as simple as getting a screening test, quitting smoking, or talking to elected officials about cancer. By taking action, people are personally taking steps to save lives and fight back against a disease that takes too much.

The theme that has been chosen for the 2016-2017 school year is, "Powers in our stories" Our objective this year is to be an organization that will help people discover and build a stronger connection with their identity. Every story has a history and a purpose; with every story told, hidden truths are revealed and awareness of one’s identity is realized.
Students majoring in biology receive a broad introduction to biological principles at the molecular, organismal, and ecological levels of organization. The biology program emphasizes hands-on learning, and students are encouraged to participate in independent undergraduate research projects.

The Department of Mathematics offers a BA and BS in Mathematics, as well as a math minor. In cooperation with the College of Education, we offer a BA in Mathematics with teaching licensure in 5-12 Mathematics or a BA in Elementary Education with a Middle School Math Endorsement. In addition, we offer a Dual-Degree in Applied Mathematics and Engineering with the University of Minnesota.

The Center exists to promote the scholarly interest, the rich legacy and the complex heritage of the Hmong people. The Hmong are in a unique position to articulate the ideas and practices of a shifting modern world. Dispersed across the globe, without the advantage of a written script for much of their history, the Hmong are a powerful byproduct of global interactions and international relations. Bonded by a foundation of the oral, a tradition embedded in legends and memory, the Hmong are an example of a global community that has survived despite the influences of dominant cultures and perspectives, the powers of market economies and the strident pulls of politics. The Center for Hmong Studies is an academic resource center that is unique in its service and commitments. The Center exists to track, document, research, develop and teach the long history, the current conditions, and the future trajectory of an international community in the midst of transition. Funded by both public and private dollars, the Center for Hmong Studies is excited to meet the needs of a diverse population in the pursuit of delivering the most accurate information on the Hmong. The Center for Hmong Studies is here to advance a comprehensive and holistic understanding of the Hmong people and the important role they have played in the shaping of the modern world. We are here to instigate the field of Hmong Study by unifying the ideas, the experiences and the wisdom of the Hmong. Since its founding, over 8,000 students, scholars and community members have visited the Center.
