Indian Tandoori is a new restaurant located near the Miami International airport area serving traditional Indian dishes. Owner Denis Nazareth, has run several restaurants in the Miami area and is the current owner of Thali Indian Restaurant in Miami Beach. His vision is to bring out the true essence of the curry for the ultimate taste experience. Our dishes are cooked using the Tandoori method. Tandoori is a method of cooking using the tandoor oven. The tandoor is traditionally used to prepare flat breads such as roti and naan. It is also used for preparing marinated meats or vegetables over an intense charcoal fire. A tandoor is a clay oven, in fact it is basically almost like a very large clay pit, large enough to hold a small fire created by slow burning wood charcoal. The heat is controlled by the amount of oxygen that is let in or out of the pit. The direct heat of the charcoal fire is reflected by the ceramic walls of the tandoor intensifying the heat and creating a cooking environment that easily reaches 900 °F. The marinade used in almost any tandoori dish starts with yogurt. In addition to the colors provided by the spices, tandoori marinades are also flavored traditionally with ginger, garlic, coriander powder, cayenne pepper, garam masala, as well as many other Indian spices. Garam masala is a combination of roasted and ground cardamom, cumin, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and black pepper. The tandoor gives a great flavor to any dish you are preparing. We serve vegetarian and non-vegetarian options so everyone can enjoy a healthy meal. Non-veg options include chicken, lamb, shrimp and fish.
