The Italian American Heritage Corporation is one of the oldest Italian American organization in the United States. It was organized on November 11, 1866 and was incorporated on December 6, 1866 it is composed of many St. Louis Italian-American Organizations, who joined together a number of years ago to ensure that there will always be a Columbus Day Parade. The first parade was organized by the Fratellanza Society in 1867 through the effort of an Italian settlement in downtown St Louis. The parade route started downtown and terminated at the statue of Chistopher Columbus ( donated by Henry Shaw ) in Tower Park. For many years it has been held on " The Hill" . The parade is always the highlight of the Columbus Day celebration by many Italian Organizations to promote the philosophy and culture of their heritage by participating in a Festa after the parade. The Festa is traditionally held in Berra Park.

The District was created in 2007 by City of St. Louis Board of Aldermand Bill #67593 for the five-year period beginning January 1, 2008 through December 31, 2012. The District Property is all of the property located within the City of St. Louis abutting the roadway commonly known as Flora Place together with any rear parcels that abut parcels abutting on Flora Place and bounded on the east by Grand Boulevard, on the west by Tower Grove Avenue, on the north by the east-west alleyways located in CB 4935, CB 4940, CB 4941, CB 4946, CB 4947, and CB 4952 (and excluding those properties north of such alley ways abutting Russell Boulevard ), and on the south by the east-west alleyways located in CB 4934, CB 4929, CB 4920, CB 4919, CB 2117, and CB 2118 (and excluding those properties south of such alleyways abutting Flad Avenue). The District is governed by a Board consisting of a President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and Block Captains from each block within the District. MPOWERSTL hosts tons of free events for younger Gay/Bi guys and transwomen in St. Louis. While some of our events are education-based, most of them are about being social, and all of them are designed to be a lot of fun! These events are not only great places to meet guys and have a good time: they're also opportunities to volunteer and get involved in your community! We try to focus on the entire "gay experience," not just the bar/club scene, and we're all about helping guys maintain healthy minds, bodies, and relationships. If you want to get involved, we have something that is PERFECT for you.
We have regular science labs during school year on Saturday from 9:00am to 4:00pm. We have astronomy, chemistry, agriscience, engineering, computer science, neuroscience, and entrepreneurship components in our program that engage teens in critical thinking about science and fun scientific learning. During summer time, we don't have regular components but we do have Summer Time Science that serves the same purpose as regular school year activities while adds to more insights of knowledge and provides more internship opportunities for the teens.

Follow-up tests after abnormal cancer screening results within the last 12 months: Chances are you know someone who has been affected by cancer. Whether it’s yourself, your aunt, or a friend from church, cancer touches us all. Dr. Rebecca Lobb and her study team from Washington University are recruiting people who needed follow-up tests after screening for breast, cervical or colorectal cancer in the last 12 months to tell us their story. If you qualify, you will be asked to participate in a one-hour interview in your area. After the interview, you will receive $50 for your time. The goal of the study is to learn about your experience with completing follow-up tests after the cancer screening test. The information gathered from the study will be used to identify promising strategies for promoting early detection of cancer in your area. The study is funded by the National Cancer Institute and the American Cancer Society. Residents of Bollinger, Butler, Cape Girardeau, Dunklin, Mississippi, New Madrid, Pemiscot, Scott, Stoddard and Wayne counties are eligible to participate. Startup Weekend: HEALTHbio St. Louis unites aspiring entrepreneurs through the common goal of creating real, viable startups in just 54 hours. The event, open to all, will be held at CIC St. Louis from Friday, February 6 – Sunday, February 8, 2015. HEALTHbio is a 54-hour frenzy of business model creation, coding, designing, and market validation. Throughout the weekend, participants work in teams to refine top concepts and even create basic prototypes and business plans. The event culminates in Sunday night demos, where teams receive critical feedback from local entrepreneurial leaders. American Music Abroad is a cultural diplomacy program that brings together American musicians with global audiences. The program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and is run by American Voices. Each year AMA selects approximately 10 ensembles to embark on overseas tours. While on these tours musicians participate in concerts, workshops, educational programs and more.
