The International Center of Photography (ICP) is the world’s leading institution dedicated to the practice and understanding of photography and the reproduced image in all its forms. Through our exhibitions, school, public programs, and community outreach, we offer an open forum for dialogue about the role images play in our culture. Since our founding, we have presented more than 700 exhibitions and offered thousands of classes, providing instruction at every level. ICP is a center where photographers and artists, students and scholars can create and interpret the world of the image.

The Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis High School for International Careers, located at 120 West 46th Street in the Times Square neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City, was established in the 1970s in lower Manhattan as an all-girls annex to Murry Bergtraum High School. Its original goal was to offer young women a business education, then not readily available to female students, however it is now co-ed. The school was renamed in honor of former First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis in 1995, a year after her death.The building now occupied by the school was formerly the location of Performing Arts High School, the school on which the 1980 film Fame was based. In winter 1988, the vacant building caught fire during renovation. Its facade and several exterior walls survived; the interior needed complete reconstruction. Performing Arts High School moved to LaGuardia High School, and the 46th Street building reopened in 1995 as the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis High School.The primary programs offered by the school include international business studies, virtual enterprise, hospitality and tourism, and accounting. Other programs include drama and dance.

In 1956 commercial director Bob Barron met radio actor and announcer Dwight Weist. TV was a new invention and commercials were just in their infancy. It seems incredible now, but at the time it was almost impossible to find good actors willing to perform in the unfamiliar industry of On-Camera Commercials. Bob and Dwight were inspired with the idea of teaching newcomers to read copy and feel comfortable in front of the camera. They created a step-by-step technique, teaching new actors the fundamentals of Commercial Speech, On-Camera Performance, and most importantly, how to project their individual personality. The course was an immediate success and the school grew to become one of the most respected in all areas of on-camera training. Now a half-century later Weist-Barron is proud to have launched the careers of scores of actors who are working successfully in film, television, theatre and of course, commercials. WB is currently under the direction of Casting Director Valerie Adami, who was lucky to be trained by Bob and Dwight. She is honored to continue the tradition they created, and to serve the acting community, giving new talent the chance to enrich their dreams.

Rockefeller Center is a large complex consisting of 19 highrise commercial buildings covering 22acre between 48th and 51st Streets in New York City. Commissioned by the Rockefeller family, it is located in the center of Midtown Manhattan, spanning the area between Fifth Avenue and Sixth Avenue. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1987.It is famous for its annual Christmas tree lighting.HistoryRockefeller Center was named after John D. Rockefeller, Jr., who leased the space from Columbia University in 1928 and developed it beginning in 1930. Rockefeller initially planned a syndicate to build an opera house for the Metropolitan Opera on the site, but changed plans after the stock market crash of 1929 and the Metropolitan's continual delays to hold out for a more favorable lease, causing Rockefeller to move forward without them. Rockefeller stated, "It was clear that there were only two courses open to me. One was to abandon the entire development. The other to go forward with it in the definite knowledge that I myself would have to build it and finance it alone." He took on the enormous project as the sole financier, on a 27-year lease (with the option for three 21-year renewals for a total of 87 years) for the site from Columbia; negotiating a line of credit with the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and covering ongoing expenses through the sale of oil company stock. The initial cost of acquiring the space, razing some of the existing buildings and constructing new buildings was estimated at $250 million.
