St. Mary's University School of Law is one of the professional graduate schools of St. Mary's University. The law school is located in San Antonio, Texas, USA and is the oldest Catholic law school in the American Southwest. The University is a private Catholic university. Until the School of Law became associated with a physical campus, classes were held at the Bexar County Courthouse. In an attempt to maximize educational and material resources of the fledgling institution, the Board of Governors negotiated with St. Mary's University regarding a transfer of the School of Law's administrative control. The transfer was completed on October 1, 1934, and St. Mary's University School of Law was officially established.

Our full-time, adjunct and visiting professors include nationally known subject-area experts, former U.S. Supreme Court and White House Clerks and Fellows, and Fulbright Scholars. Our Center for Legal and Social Justice houses a widely recognized clinical program that offers students invaluable hands-on legal training representing San Antonio’s indigent and disadvantaged citizens. St. Mary’s was recognized with the Law School Commitment to Service Award from the Texas Access to Justice Commission in 2009 for this work. In the heart of our campus lies the Sarita Kenedy East Law Library, the largest legal information center in south Texas. We also have a state-of-the-art courtroom, one of the most technologically advanced in the country, where our nationally recognized advocacy students hone their skills as well as experience visiting courts at work. Our students proudly produce two widely cited publications, The St. Mary's Law Journal and The Scholar: St. Mary's Law Review on Minority Issues. St. Mary’s offers two unique study abroad summer programs. The newest is the Institute on Chinese Law and Business , a joint program with Beihang University in Beijing that focuses on the law of representing clients doing business with China. We also offer the St. Mary’s Institute on World Legal Problems in Innsbruck, Austria, which recently celebrated its 25th anniversary. Welcome to Dougherty Hall! Dougherty is a suite-style, co-ed hall and houses 172 first-year students. We tend to be a very fun hall, and if you get placed with us, you'll see why alumni still ask about us during our Homecoming Baby Bake! Some features of Dougherty include 4 newly furnished lounges on each floor, as well as three main lounge spaces at the front of the building. Always popular is our entrance lounge which features a pool table, ping pong table, and large TV viewing area. Also, enjoy built-in safety features, free laundry (with cell phone alert technology), and internet "port-per-pillow" rooms wired for cable and wireless internet. The Bill Greehey School of Business at St. Mary's University has more than 5,700 B.B.A. graduates and 1,100 M.B.A. graduates. The School now offers nine undergraduate majors, a master's of accounting degree, the M.B.A. degree, and the joint M.B.A./J.D. and M.A.C.C./J.D. degrees.

Founders Hall is St. Mary's newest residence hall that provides a safe, welcoming, and active environment for first-year students.This suite-style, co-ed hall is the largest residence hall on-campus. Founders Hall features a cyber cafe, a grand courtyard, conference rooms, verandas, TV and study lounges, a prayer room, billiards, and recreation equipment. There is also free laundry, Wifi, wired internet and cable in every room. Founders has eight Resident Assistants, a STAR, hall assistants, and one professional staff member in the building to support students in their transition to college and connect them with the community. The staff will plan events and activities for residents on a regular basis, so keep an eye out for those events!

The Louis J. Blume Library provides access to a variety of resources tailored to the university curriculum in an environment where the St. Mary's University community encounters and integrates the many branches of human knowledge.

Marian Hall is the Science Living Community hall. Residents who are in the School of Science, Engineering, and Technology call Marian Hall their home. This is a suite-style, co-ed hall where upperclassmen and first-year residents can reside. Science Living Community Students majoring in the sciences—from forensic science to biology, engineering to computer science—are invited to join the Science Living Community. Live down the hall from your classmates, and in the same building as upperclassmen studying similar subjects. The Science Living Community partners with the School of Science, Engineering and Technology on programs throughout the academic year and invites faculty to visit the halls and share their passions and expertise. Army ROTC is a college elective that focuses on leadership and management training. St. Mary's University Army ROTC offers students the opportunity to learn and grow in a variety of ways. The program of instruction challenges each cadet in the battalion in both indoor and outdoor settings; cadets participate in classroom instruction while also engaging in world class physical fitness training, land navigation, marksmanship, rappelling and other military activities. Cadets learn management and leadership skills not available in other University programs. Army ROTC experience contributes to a variety of job skills applicable to any profession, career or job, while instilling in each cadet a sense of confidence, discipline, and personal responsibility. Moreover, each cadet gains the satisfaction of being part of a select group of great Americans dedicated to American values and service to the nation.

Our Story began with a dream by a personal friend, choir director and coworker of mine (Maria Smith). This Dream became a reality with the help of older students that have graduated who planted the seed for our journey to begin. Years later Brother Jose Julian Matos Auffant and the hard work put in by the founding members of the new group Arturo Delgado, Maria Salazar, Julie Sanchez, Maribel Laredo, Ashley Irias, and Yesenia Robles, we continued the efforts of those who came before us and made their dream come true. Thanks to these people the Hispanic Ministry has grown and hope to keep on growing for years to come

The Dean of Students office is the central part of support services for students outside of the classroom. It also works closely with the Judicial Affair process making sure that the St. Mary's community continues to have a positive living and learning environment. The dean leads the student life team that consists of multiple offices that work together to develop a comprehensive array of programs, services, activities, and events that ease a students pursuit of academic achievement and personal growth. Dr. Bessler also serves as the primary advisor to the St. Mary’s University Student Government Association.
