Frozen Ever After is a dark water ride attraction in Epcot at the Walt Disney World Resort. Part of the Norway Pavilion of the park's World Showcase section, the attraction features scenes inspired by Disney's 2013 animated film Frozen as well as the 2015 animated short Frozen Fever. It opened on June 21, 2016 and replaced the former Maelstrom attraction, utilizing the same ride vehicles and a similar track layout.HistoryOn September 12, 2014, Walt Disney World officials announced that the Maelstrom attraction would be replaced by an attraction based on Frozen. Maelstrom's final day of operation was October 5, 2014.In June 2015, then-Disney Chief Operating Officer Tom Staggs revealed that plans for a Frozen attraction were discussed prior to the film's release, but were accelerated after the film's worldwide success. On responding to whether converting a portion of the Norway pavilion into an attraction based on a fictional place was appropriate for World Showcase, Staggs stated: "If the goal is to give people a taste of something like Scandinavia with the Norway pavilion, then Frozen would only increase the extent to which people would be drawn to it. To me it doesn’t seem out-of-character at all."
The Sorcerer's Hat was the icon of Disney's Hollywood Studios, the third of four theme parks built at the Walt Disney World Resort in Bay Lake, Florida. The structure was inspired by the "Sorcerer's Apprentice" segment in Walt Disney's 1940 animated film, Fantasia. Mickey Mouse's gloved hand and ears underneath the hat are visible emerging from the ground. With its opening on September 28, 2001, it replaced the Earffel Tower as the park's icon in marketing material. It was used as a venue for pin trading and sales, and also served as a backdrop to many special events and shows. High School Musical Live culminated several dances from several Disney Channel shows that performed several times daily in front of the hat. Disney characters made meet-and-greet appearances around the hat throughout the day.Built in front of The Great Movie Ride, the Sorcerer's Hat debuted on September 28, 2001 as part of the 100 Years of Magic celebration at Walt Disney World Resort. During the celebration, interactive kiosks were installed underneath the Sorcerer's Hat where guests could learn about Walt Disney's life and career. When the celebration ended in early 2003, the kiosks were removed. On May 20, 2011, the Sorcerer's Hat served as the venue for the grand opening ceremony for Star Tours: The Adventures Continue.
Disney's Beach Club Resort is a beach-themed deluxe AAA Four-Diamond Award–winning resort at the Walt Disney World Resort. It opened on November 19, 1990. The resort is owned and operated by Walt Disney Parks and Resorts.Disney's Beach Club Resort is located in the Epcot Resort Area, next to a sister resort, Disney's Yacht Club Resort, and across Crescent Lake from Disney's BoardWalk Resort. Disney's Yacht Club Resort and Disney's Beach Club Resort and Villas share amenities and resources, including staff and management. Disney's Beach Club Resort is home to a 73000sqft convention center which is shared with Disney's Yacht Club Resort. The villas on site are part of the Disney Vacation Club, sitting on of land and consisting of 282 units.ResortThis hotel was designed by Robert A.M. Stern. It is themed after seaside cottages found in Newport at the start of the 20th century, with the guest rooms following suit. The resort's light blue motif distinguishes itself from the gray siding with red and white striped awnings of Disney's Yacht Club Resort.Boat transportation from the resort runs to Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios as well as Disney's BoardWalk Resort and the Walt Disney World Swan and Walt Disney World Dolphin resorts. The resort is about five minutes walking distance from Epcot, and roughly fifteen minutes walking distance to Disney's Hollywood Studios. Guests can use the International Gateway entrance to Epcot in World Showcase between the France and United Kingdom pavilions.
