The Gardenia is celebrating its 35-year anniversary in 2015, now the longest-running Cabaret Supper Club in the United States. A classic Old Hollywood-style entertainment venue in every sense, the club itself is designed and sized after a classic Cabaret theme and setting, and has played host to an incredible range of talent for decades, from up-and-coming performing/singing artists to seasoned professionals and legends in the entertainment business, in music, theater, stage Broadway, film and television. MODA Hollywood (Museum Of Digital Art) DIG-IT-AL! MODA Hollywood is a creative space in Hollywood dedicated to digital art. (although, every art medium and form is encouraged) We want to document how the digital revolution will affect artists in the future and impact the art world. "Museum" comes from an Ancient Greek word used to name one of the worlds first great centers of study and learning, (around 300 BC). "The Musaeum" at Alexandria, Egypt, translates as; "Institution of the Muses". - A sacred place devoted to learning and the arts. It was under the divine protection and inspiration of the Muses. The Musaeum was like a small university and included The Library of Alexandria. MODA Hollywood will embrace the original meaning for "museum". Rather than fill its rooms collecting "objects" and "things", MODA wants to inspire people's creativity. It should be a mecca for artists who want to use the space to work on new ideas, collaborate with other artists, create art performances, sell art and display their work to others. Art that is exhibited or performed will be digitally documented for the museum. Later it will be shown on digital screens, using virtual reality or with 3-D imaging technology developed in the future. This is how a digital museum collection will be assembled in the 21st century... MODA is a space for designers, dancers & divas in Los Angeles who consider themselves artists and what they do a form of art. This includes not just paintings and sculpture, but would include anything from a fierce haircut, a food recipe, clothing design, song etc. In this era of "Mediacracy", where everyone can have a blog or website to promote themselves, we are looking for superior talent - people who have something to show or say that would be interesting to more than just their mothers. MODA Hollywood's other goal is to give a new meaning to what digital art is. Since an artist's final product is usually a digital file, (and most digital art is made as a digital file), the idea of selling art as digital files is promoted. (a new medium for art) - In 2016, MODA will continue to explain the advantages to selling art as digital files and how it will work. The Digital connection - The ultimate goal is creating a community digital billboard where LA artists can exhibit their art to the public. (In the future, everyone will be an "Artist", - for 15 seconds...) Money will be raised for this sign and each artist that qualifies will get 15 seconds to display their art on it. Up to now, artists could display their art to the public with large murals painted on buildings. With a digital billboard, many more artists could be represented in public art.

The Jim Henson Company Lot is a studio property located just south of the southeast corner of La Brea Avenue and Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood. It was built in 1917 by silent and sound film star Charlie Chaplin.After being sold by Chaplin in 1953, the property went through several changes in ownership and has served at various times as Kling Studios, the Red Skelton Studios, the shooting location for the Adventures of Superman and Perry Mason television series, and as the headquarters for A&M Records and The Jim Henson Company. In 1969, it was designated as a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument.HistoryConstructionIn October 1917, Charlie Chaplin announced plans to build his own film studio at the southeast corner of La Brea and Sunset Boulevard. In his autobiography, Chaplin described the decision as follows:"At the end of the Mutual contract, I was anxious to get started with First National, but we had no studio. I decided to buy land in Hollywood and build one. The site was the corner of Sunset and La Brea and had a very fine ten-room house and five acres of lemon, orange and peach trees. We built a perfect unit, complete with developing plant, cutting room, and offices."Chaplin purchased the site from R.S. McClellan, who lived on the site and had a large grove of orange trees on the property. The lot had 300ft of frontage on Sunset and 600ft on La Brea, extending south to De Longpre. Chaplin announced he would make his home on the northern part of the property, and build his own motion picture plant on the south part of the property, cornering at La Brea and De Longpre. Chaplin's plans for six English-style buildings, "arranged as to give the effect of a picturesque English village street," were published in the Los Angeles Times in October 1917. The plans were prepared by the Milwaukee Building Company (Meyer & Holler), and the total investment was estimated to be approximately $100,000. The layout of the buildings was described by the Los Angeles Times in 2002 as a "fairy-tale cottage complex." Another writer has described the style as "eccentric Peter Pan architecture."
