Art Lab is an experiment. It asks the question: Can traditional artists' studios evolve into a galaxy of community arts hubs? The answer -- based on activity in the last 3 years -- is a resounding, "Yes!"
In the context of this experiment, Art Lab, strives to serve the parallel and mutual benefit of: 1) the larger arts community; 2) art community’s patrons; and 3) individual working artists / artisans.
The BIG IDEA that animates Art Lab 123 is that it can, by its existence and mission, promote community building and purposeful living. --STOP READING HERE --
Blah, blah, blah. Still reading, okay: "...that it can, over time, be a catalyst and model for positive, sustainable and reproducible change. We strive to: create new meeting places and affordable work spaces for artists / artisans; and to connect art collectors and artisans / artists with other community members. We endeavor to animate the above toward the exchange and implementation of ideas that pro-actively and preemptively promote a more peaceful, balanced and sustainable life for persons and communities.

Art Lab 123 is located in Chicago, half a block south of Chicago and California Aves. -- Just look for the Yellow Doors. --We are handicapped accessible/ADA compliant.
Access us by CTA, cars and bikes. Parking is Free (and plentiful!) and there are no "permits," or other hassles. Bikes may be parked outside the building in secure designated areas.
