Vision: A Cultural Center for All People IPRAC is about the past, present and future. It provides a one-of-a-kind showcase for the vast array of traditional and contemporary Puerto Rican arts. It tells the story of the contributions of people from Puerto Rico in the making of this city and of this nation. It is a cultural center for all people. By virtue of its location, in the heart of Chicago’s Puerto Rican community, IPRAC offers a unique insight into the Puerto Rican experience that is not offered by any other institution; a facility that can merge major art, historic and anthropological exhibitions with authentic community lectures and workshops.

Art Lab is an experiment. It asks the question: Can traditional artists' studios evolve into a galaxy of community arts hubs? The answer -- based on activity in the last 3 years -- is a resounding, "Yes!" In the context of this experiment, Art Lab, strives to serve the parallel and mutual benefit of: 1) the larger arts community; 2) art community’s patrons; and 3) individual working artists / artisans. The BIG IDEA that animates Art Lab 123 is that it can, by its existence and mission, promote community building and purposeful living. --STOP READING HERE -- Blah, blah, blah. Still reading, okay: "...that it can, over time, be a catalyst and model for positive, sustainable and reproducible change. We strive to: create new meeting places and affordable work spaces for artists / artisans; and to connect art collectors and artisans / artists with other community members. We endeavor to animate the above toward the exchange and implementation of ideas that pro-actively and preemptively promote a more peaceful, balanced and sustainable life for persons and communities. Want to be part of Art Lab? …Great! We host some events and promote many others, but do NOT offer a traditional “the doors are open 9-5 and come on in” format. Tango 21 Dance Theater (T21DT) uses the language of Argentine tango dance and music to tell compelling contemporary stories with live theater performances. We are made up of Chicago-area dancers, actors and musicians of all ages and perform original works choreographed and written by Jorge Niedas & Liz Sung. Our shows consist of Argentine tango dance (choreographed and improvised), Argentine tango music (recorded and live performances), dance fusion with other disciplines (ie; ballet, folk, modern, Latin dance, etc.), as well as actors with speaking roles. T21DT strives to create shows that not only present the art form of Argentine tango, but also tell very human stories in our contemporary society. In our first year, T21DT produced and premiered two original shows, El Tango Café and Cambalache: A Holiday Story, both with over 15 cast members. We are a growing dance theater company and as we move ahead to continually expand our repertoire of works and develop our artists, we face funding challenges in general operations and production costs. Although we are excited about our future, we know that it takes a realistic approach to make it work. We need your support! Stay in touch with us and stay up to date on show announcements and T21DT news. If you are in the Chicago area, come see one of our shows. Make a donation and support us. Tango 21 Dance Theater is a fiscally sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts service organization. Donations for the purposes of Tango 21 Dance Theater must be made payable to Fractured Atlas and are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
