Maurice Egeston is a pianist from St. Louis, Missouri who spends his musical time leading bands, writing music, working as a piano accompanist and working as an educator in both the classroom and the private studio. Mo did his graduate studies in chamber music and accompanying at Southern Illinois University (Edwardsville) with Dr. Linda Perry. He has been the adjunct music instructor at Columbia College-St. Louis since 1996 and he returned as a music instructor to McKendree University in the Fall of 2012. - See more at: http://www.moegeston.com

The Student Bar Association (SBA) is the governmental body for all law students. Every School of Law student is a member of the SBA. The purpose of SBA, as set forth by its constitution, is to provide the students of the law school with a forum for the expression of ideas concerning the social, moral and intellectual aspects of the legal profession, and also to provide an opportunity for the students of the law school to participate in the formulation and administration of the educational policies of the law school. The SBA serves as an umbrella organization for all of the student groups within the law school. The SBA provides funding for student organizations, coordinates activities among students, works in conjunction with the Deans’ Office in addressing student concerns, and represents the law school in the Graduate and Professional Student Association (GPSA) of Saint Louis University. The SBA is committed to creating the best learning environment for all students, and we encourage everyone to actively participate in SBA activities. The SBA is here to help make your law school career a success. The goal is for all students to use the SBA as a resource for any questions, concerns or needs. These are TEDx salon-style events, and are open to public. We spend the evening listening to local speakers, having a few drinks and discussing/debating the topics. There is no cover charge and drinks are paid for by individuals. ------------------ In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxGatewayArch, where x=independently organized TED event. At our TEDxGatewayArch event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

The Saint Louis University Law Journal is the oldest publication at Saint Louis University School of Law. Law students edit and produce the Journal, which the School of Law sponsors. Eminent scholars, judges, professors, practitioners and high-achieving law students author the articles for the Journal’s four annual issues. The Journal publishes four annual issues on a variety of legal topics. It is our goal to publish timely, pertinent and thought-provoking legal scholarship in every volume. Further, we seek to make publishing with the Journal a positive and enjoyable experience for the authors with whom we collaborate. Finally, it is our readers whom we endeavor to serve. Our readers are the final judge of quality, and the Journal seeks to improve in quality with each successive volume.

NIE is an acronym for Newspapers in Education. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch NIE program encourages teachers to use the Post-Dispatch as a textbook in the classroom. Through NIE, students use the newspaper to learn a variety of skills - from math, reading and character education to science, health and nutrition. The Post-Dispatch NIE program has been providing newspaper access to area teachers and students for more than 30 years and provides access to more than 6 million papers and/or ePosts a year. Since the introduction of ePost (an exact electronic replica of the Post-Dispatch), NIE is now a green program eliminating the production and distribution of newspapers to classrooms. NIE, through Missouri Press Foundation, is a 501c3.

YouthBuild is a program for young adults ages 17-24 years old, not enrolled in school, St. Louis city resident, from a low income family, and have at least ONE of the following barriers; *Deficient in Basic Skill *High School Dropout *Offender (youth or adult) The purpose of the YouthBuild program is to help At-risk youth to reach their educational goals and gain skill in the construction field. Youth enrolled in program are able to take advantage of many services. Services are tailored to meet the specific needs of each youth.

In 2009, KIPP Inspire Academy opened with 80 fifth graders and one promise: that we would do whatever it takes to help our students climb the mountain to and through college. Seven years later, we continue to make-and keep-that promise, now serving nearly 960 students in four schools. With the support of our sponsor, Washington University in St. Louis, KIPP St. Louis eventually plans to serve more than 2,600 students in six schools. KIPP St. Louis enrolls students from every zip code in the city, and aims to bring the opportunity for quality education to those students living in areas without access to high-performing schools. Ninety-eight percent of our students are African-American, 96 percent qualify for free or reduced-price meals, and 13 percent qualify for special education services.

College Preparatory High School values academic achievement and character development in all of its students. We offer enrichment courses in music, art, and foreign languages as well as advanced placement classes and ACT preparation.

This is a theme based program centered on the student. Camp Classic has adopted Piaget’s Theory of Cognitive Development. This theory states that children are active and motivated learners, children organize what they learn from their experiences, and that children adapt to their environment through the processes of assimilation and accommodation. They will have fun while learning and achieving goals they set at the beginning of camp. Hours of Operation: Camp days/hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm. Before care is between the hours of 7:00am-8:00am and after care hours are between the hours of 4:00pm-6:00pm Before care and after care fees begin at $50 a week according to activities children are participating in. Camp fees begin at $85 a week according to activities children are participating in. Please speak to the register about state assistance and sibling discounts. Camp fees help to pay for transportation, sports camp, and food cost.

Carr Lane Visual and Performing Arts Middle School is an institution seeking to combine aesthetic experiences with traditional education. The core of the program presents a total artistic educational experience including vocal music, piano, drama, mass media, dance, band, strings, harp and visual art. The challenging academic program includes language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, reading, communication arts, industrial technology, health, physical education and AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination). The school is a home to a number of special education services including educable mentally handicapped, learning disabled, behavior disordered, speech and/or language impaired, physically handicapped, blind and other health impaired in either a self-contained or resource setting. The school’s academic program is greatly enhanced by its magnet focus on the arts. The success of the Carr Lane Visual and Performing Arts program is the incorporation of hands-on classroom instruction with unique opportunities for exposure to the arts.
