Holiday and restaurant hours may vary.HistoryThe Grove at Shrewsbury, New Jersey's first lifestyle center, opened in 1988. In the late 80s, the lifestyle center was a new idea in retail. It requires less land than a regional shopping center, produces higher per square foot sales than many shopping centers and is thought of as being more convenient and accessible to shoppers due to its smaller size. The Grove fits all these qualities and further attracted retailers to its property due to its lush, well-kept gardens, brick walkways, comfortable seating areas, community events and individual storefronts. The primary anchor in the early years of The Grove was Epstein's, a regional New Jersey Department store. Epstein's would later close and Sealfon's, another upscale, regional New Jersey Department store opened in its place. That store also went out of business. The space was eventually subdivided and in its place opened a flagship Brooks Brothers and Anthropologie, Monmouth County's first. The Grove at Shrewsbury continues to be a dominant player in the Monmouth County retail landscape and its success has inspired many more lifestyle centers to be built within New Jersey.

The LHF was established by retired cardiac surgeon Arthur J. Roberts, M.D. in April 2001 to combat sudden cardiac death and to provide risk stratification with early intervention for cardiac, pulmonary, and metabolic conditions through on-site screening and integrated health programs. LHF has been dedicated to providing these services to specific groups that traditionally have been overlooked, especially high school, college and professional athletes. The initial efforts began with a number of high schools in Massachusetts, followed by the Columbia football team. In the next phase, the Foundation has extended its services to rescue workers at the World Trade Center disaster, and has been invited to assist at the Summer 2004 Olympics in Greece. Most recently, the LHF has begun a national health screening program involving current and retired professional football players. Coincidentally, the organization has become a partner with the American Heart Association, the American College of Cardiology, and Pfizer in an exciting new movement called the Boomer Coalition. The purpose of this alliance is to promote public awareness of the significance of CV disease in the aging baby boomers.

Dancers for each production are normally chosen from open auditions. They range in age from 6 to 18 years with the average age of the corps de ballet dancers being 14. Daily training is essential for the corps dancers to be technically prepared and all rehearsal time, approximately 12 hours each week, is strictly in addition to class time. At the corps de ballet level, the dancer is at the studio perhaps 15 to 22 hours each week for class; at the junior corps de ballet level, the student is training an average of 10 hours weekly. Most of our young children study classical ballet at least 2 hours weekly, with many studying much more. CODA dancers have rehearsed and performed alongside guest dancers from New York City Ballet, American Repertory Ballet, New Jersey’s Garden State Ballet, Alvin Ailey, Catanach Ballet Theater, and the Joffrey Ballet. Working with such renowned choreographers as Peter Anastos, Frank Ohman, Yvonne Lamb Scudiery and Daniel Catanach give the young dancers the experience they can put to full use later in their careers. The Company of Dance Arts has mounted successful productions at regional venues including the the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, Monmouth University’s Guggenheim Theater in West Long Branch, Rutger’s University, Camden, the historic Strand Theatre in Lakewood, the Mary B. Burch Theater in Newark, Red Bank Regional High School, Red Bank, the Park Theater in Union City, and Montclair High School in Montclair. Our repertoire includes: A Midsummer Night’s Dream (choreography by Peter Anastos) Celebrate Dance (various choreographers; directed by Jennifer James Church) Fire Maiden (choreography by Jennifer James Church) Hansel and Gretel (choreography by Jennifer James Church) La Boutique Fantasque (choreography by Frank Ohman; remounted by Charles Nicoll and Jennifer James Church) Peter Rabbit & Other Tails (choreography by Daniel Catanach) Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (choreography by Yvonne Lamb Scudiery) The Nutcracker (choreography by Peter Anastos) The Sleeping Beauty (choreography by Peter Anastos) The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (choreography by Yvonne Lamb Scudiery)

We wish that rescue dogs could be FREE TO GOOD HOME, but we need help with the costs of vetting and transport, so we have a flat $250 adoption fee. Dogs come fully vetted with spay/neuter, vaccines and microchip. We do have exceptions, including our Seniors for Seniors Program. There are too many dogs that need to find loving homes. There are people who want to love a dog. There are people who can't have a dog but would like to donate to dog rescue. It's our goal to bring these groups together and to save as many dogs as possible!
Whenever a Lions club gets together, problems get smaller. And communities get better. That's because we help where help is needed – in our own communities and around the world – with unmatched integrity and energy. Multiple District 16 is celebrating its 93th Anniversary. Our first Lions Club (Camden Lions Club) was chartered on 12/15/1920. Visit our state website at http://www.njlions.org In 1917, Melvin Jones, a 38-year-old Chicago business leader, told members of his local business club they should reach beyond business issues and address the betterment of their communities and the world. Jones' group, the Business Circle of Chicago, agreed. After contacting similar groups around the United States, an organizational meeting was held on June 7, 1917, in Chicago, Illinois, USA. The new group took the name of one of the invited groups, the "Association of Lions Clubs," and a national convention was held in Dallas, Texas, USA in October of that year. A constitution, by-laws, objects and a code of ethics were approved. Within three years, Lions became an international organization. Since then, we've earned high marks for both integrity and transparency. We're a well-run organization with a steady vision, a clear mission, and a long – and proud – history.

Our History Founded in 1879, Monmouth Boat Club is located in Red Bank, New Jersey, near the head of the beautiful Navesink River. It is an informal and friendly organization whose members are drawn together by a love of sailing and rowing and an appreciation of the charm of our idyllic river. The Club is run and maintained entirely by its members, resulting in a close spirit of cooperation and camaraderie. MBC was originally founded as a rowing club at the time when paddle wheel steamboats and packet sailing ships maintained an active trade between Red Bank and New York City, and commercial fishing and the oyster industry flourished on the Navesink. Though much has changed along the waterfront over the years, Monmouth Boat Club has remained a constant force promoting recreation on the river. Sailing has been the major focus of the Club since Word War I. Currently, there are five active one-design classes, an enthusiastic cruising fleet and a variety of small craft used for day-sailing and gunk-holing. The one-design classes include Lightnings, Albacores, Flying Scots, Wood Pussys, and Sanderlings
