The two-story, 5k square foot space features VIP sections both upstairs and downstairs, two bars and can accommodate up to 1200 guests. The Official Miami Walk of Fame has partnered with Bayside Marketplace, world renowned artist Romero Britto, Greater Miami Conventions and Visitors Bureau and Miami Downtown Development Authority, to establish the Official Miami Walk of Fame. This is the launch of a new Downtown Miami tradition, in its arts and entertainment district at Bayside Marketplace, which is known as one of South Florida’s prime hospitality and tourism destinations and a vital economic growth engine for Miami. The Official Miami Walk of Fame at Bayside Marketplace is a world-class tourist attraction and destination in "The Magic City", fashioned after the Hollywood Walk of Fame sidewalk established in 1960. The Official Miami Walk of Fame immortalizes some of the entertainment industry's biggest names, many who are hometown celebrities in entertainment, television, theater, sports, music and others, chosen by a selection committee of industry peers. Inductees will be honored with an induction ceremony and a star designed by Romero Britto, Brazilian Neo-pop artist, painter, and sculptor, who has lived in Miami, Florida since 1989. The stars will be embedded in the sidewalk flagpole entrance of Bayside Marketplace, 401 Biscayne Boulevard. The stars are made in Miami by Creative Terrazzo Systems, Inc. using precision laser cutting technology. The Walk of Fame is a tribute to all of those honorees who have worked or lived in the Greater Miami Area, for periods of considerable regularity and have contributed to the charm, worldwide prominence and name recognition of Miami, FL. The Walk of Fame is open to the public. No paid admission or assigned seating at star ceremonies.
Dimensions Variable (DV) is an exhibition space committed to the presentation and support of contemporary art. Through a collaborative exchange with artists and institutions, DV develops an exhibition program that engages the community and promotes new and experimental ideas. Dimensions Variable was founded in 2009 by artists Frances Trombly and Leyden Rodriguez-Casanova who currently serve as directors. Support for Dimensions Variable is provided by Cannonball through its WaveMaker Grants program, which is part of the Andy Warhol Foundation’s Regional Regranting Program. WaveMaker Grants is supported by the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, and the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs. Additional support for Dimensions Variable is provided by the donation of its exhibition space by Miami Dade College.
International Fine Art Expositions (IFAE) is pleased to announce the debut of Miami Art + Design (MA+D), in collaboration with the SNA, the organizer of the prestigious Paris Biennale and co-organizer of New York’s Salon: Art + Design. The two entities will jointly organize the new fair, set to premiere February 14-18, 2014 in a spectacular new state-of-the-art waterfront location in the Noguchi Bayfront Park. “This collaboration will bring Miami a new major ‘in season’ international event,” said David Lester of IFAE. “The new waterfront location the heart of Miami’s Arts & Entertainment District next to Museum Park is one of the most extraordinary and exciting fair locations in the world.” The fair will feature the best of American and European art and design. “This fair will be especially attractive to collectors, architects, and designers from throughout the United States and Latin America,” said Christian Deydier, President of the SNA. “Miami is a vibrant, exciting city that has become a major cultural meeting point for the Americas.” The Lesters and David Setford of IFAE will guide the fair with a Committee from SNA composed of Barry Friedman, Christian Deydier and Robert Vallois. The dynamic pair has organized over 70 international art fairs in art capitals around the world including New York, Chicago, Hong Kong, and London.
