At The St. Michael School of Clayton, a progressive educational experience, we believe it is the educator’s responsibility to teach and research along with the child and parent to support learning and success. We believe all children are strong, capable and intelligent. We believe the heart of learning is listening. Being fully attentive to children and listening enables children to build relationships and accelerates their learning. We listen to children and allow our children to take the initiative and yet, guide them in productive ways. The St. Michael School of Clayton is influenced by many progressive educational practices but rely on the Reggio approach to guide us day to day. The Reggio approach fosters a child’s intellectual development and encourages them to explore their environment and express themselves through multiple paths and all their languages including the expressive, communicative, symbolic, cognitive, ethical, metaphorical, logical, imaginative and relational.

At least one-third of Olin undergraduates study abroad – in Australia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Israel, Italy, Spain or the United Kingdom. Some of our programs provide mainly academic study, while our International Internship Programs incorporate full-time internships. All of our European program students participate in a weeklong European Study Tour (last week of January) while abroad. This tour is designed to give our students an intense introduction to the aspects of the European Union.
Wash U Sports Analytics' objective is to provide interested and motivated students the opportunity to learn about sports analytics, problem solving and its current impact in the sports and business world. Wash U Sports Analytics will develop statistical measurements to further affirm, negate, or qualify a hypothesis in hopes of providing cutting edge sports research. Students will be paired up in teams based on sports preference and research interests. On average, teams will have a semester to present their findings by creating a statistical model and writing a brief summary of their results.
Our courses use feminist theory and gender analysis to examine literature, culture, social structures, and political power, and to understand how assumptions and beliefs about masculinities, femininities, and sexualities shape human institutions, organizations, and activities.
