Vox Christi is The publishing house of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary. We publish a quarterly publication of the seminarians of Kenrick – Glennon Seminary created in response to the Holy Father’s call to develop a life cultivated by art and prayer. At a time when Communist rule threatened Eastern Europe, the Word of God found a home in the heart of Ida Peterfy. During a retreat, inspired & moved by God’s infinite love, Ida was deeply concerned that the Good News of God’s personal love would be made known. She surrendered heart completely to God, and on October 7, 1940, Ida’s 18th birthday, she knelt before our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament at the Franciscan Church in Kassa, Hungary & vowed a life of chastity, poverty, & obedience. This profound interior response to God’s call became the foundation for our religious community, the Society Devoted to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

The United Church of God in St. Louis is a part of the spiritual body of Jesus Christ and is a congregation within the United Church of God, an International Association with congregations in more than 40 countries. Together, we preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of God and serve the flock called by God the Father (John 6:44). We strive to follow the example of the Church that Jesus founded in the first century A.D. as recorded in the Book of Acts. While saved by God's grace alone, we do believe in the commanded observance of the biblical Seventh Day Sabbath. We also observe the seven annual holy days mentioned throughout the Old and New Testaments in the light of Jesus' life, death, resurrection and Second Coming. These Holy days give the overview of God's plan of salvation for humanity. Our heartfelt desire is to worship God in spirit and truth (John 4:23-24). Therefore our doors are open, our Bibles are open and our hearts are open to receive His instruction. We invite you to worship with us each Sabbath and grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18).

We offer two different worship services. One starting at 8:30am and the other starting at 11am on Sunday mornings. We also offer a learning hour from 9:45am-10:45am. • We believe that only the sixty-six books of the Bible are the inspired, and therefore inerrant, Word of God. It is the final authority for all we believe and how we are to live. • We believe that the one, true God exists eternally in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and that these, being one God, are equal in deity, power and glory. • We believe that Adam was created in the image of God, righteous and without sin. Because of his disobedience, we are born subject to both imputed and inherent sin, and are by nature and choice the children of wrath, justly condemned in the sight of God. We are unable to save ourselves or do anything of ourselves to be accepted by God. It is only through Christ’s death on the cross that we are saved and accepted by God. • We believe that Jesus Christ is God incarnate, fully God and fully man, that He was conceived and born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and offered Himself as a substitutionary sacrifice for sinners. By the blood of His cross, he obtained for us eternal redemption, the forgiveness of sins, and life everlasting. He was raised bodily on the third day and ascended to the right hand of the Father, there to make intercession for the saints. • We believe that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. No ordinance, ritual, work, or any other activity on the part of man is required in order to be saved. This saving grace of God, through the power of the Holy Spirit, also sanctifies us by enabling us to do what is pleasing in God’s sight in order that we might be progressively conformed to the image of Christ. • We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ baptizes believers in the Holy Spirit, in whom also we are sealed for the day of redemption. The Holy Spirit regenerates, forever indwells, and equips the Christian for godly living and service. Subsequent to conversion, the Spirit desires to fill, empower, and anoint believers for ministry and witness. We also believe that signs and wonders, as well as all the gifts of the Spirit described in the New Testament, are operative today to empower and edify the church to fulfill its calling and mission.
