Why we exist Every second that passes, something happens! A child is abused, a homeless person goes without a meal, a family gets evicted, a student drops out of high school, a community experiences a natural disaster, and the list goes on and on. We exist to make known the stories that are experienced, but never heard about. By using technology, film, and service—we aim to raise awareness about stories that need relief, and mobilize an army of people who would dare to get involved in those stories and care! That’s not it though… We are dreamers of solutions! We strategically and intentionally think past dividing “walls” and invite people to take part in the problems that exist in the world. Whether it's becoming a volunteer, building a bridge between a resource and recipient, becoming a donor, or just spreading the word, we believe that when people band together, move, and get involved, people can experience redemption, hope, and life-change. Therefore, we exist to not only share the “good news” of Jesus, but to live the “good news” through a lifestyle of serving people with the love of God. Regardless of where a person is in his or her life, how they are, or who they are, we believe that everyone should encounter the love of Christ through tangible service.

Joshua's Closet International, we do everything with integrity, love, and compassion. Not because of pity. Pity looks at a situation and says, "That's awful", or "That's wrong", "A baby having a baby", "Someone should do something about that," then walk away. Love and compassion says a choice was made, a child was concieved, all things are possible for one who believes.

The show was a huge success, people starting tipping a lot of money and it was decided that PALS would be the recipient of all the proceeds and that this would be donated anonymously each year. This continued each year with the show, tip pot, and the crowd growing and growing. Each performer was doing a couple of number and the four friends Chuck / Chesley / John / Rick decided to do a production number – Moulin Rouge. David Sanford, announced to the crowd that the group was from the Southside, some little burb called East Point and he had dubbeb them the EAST POINT POSSUMS, because possums only come out at night. The music started, the crowd roared, the number was a HUGE success, an encore was done, the name stuck and history was made. By the sixth year, the host David Sanford asked if he could pass the torch over to the Possums, since a lot of the crowd was coming from there anyway. Well, once again not being ones to shy away from a challenge, we stepped up and moved it to DOWNTOWN EAST POINT!
Vision: “Sisters... For a Purpose” hopes to encourage a community of women to embrace the concept that we are our sisters’ keepers. Working interdependently with individuals and organizations, we can provide tools that will empower women. Our resources will allow them to reach their personal and professional goals, while building relationships that last a life-time. Mission: Sisters... For a Purpose serves as a catalyst to women who are interested in working towards their personal growth and business development. We desire to share resources relevant to their needs by offering self-help support gatherings. Collectively, our community of women serves as mentors/accountability partners who share a wealth of entrepreneurial experiences. Our focus is to help those who are committed to their process. Ultimately, we intend to foster positive change and growth that will strengthen families and benefit the community.
