The space is 1,681 square feet bordering on a revitalized Steuart Street to the east and south, Michelin Star One Market Restaurant to the north, and the action of the One Market Plaza atrium to the west. The location became available for lease in 2011 and, as a great piece of real estate, we very much wanted to secure it as an evening private party venue for One Market Restaurant. But, we also needed an exciting retail concept during the day. That’s where the idea of Wine & Wall was born. We know something about wine, having an award-winning wine program at One Market Restaurant right next door. We love art, and beautiful art would surely enhance the private dining experience. Why not put the two together? We did, and now take the experience to an even higher level. Wine & Wall (“The Art of Wine”) is the first retail venue we know of where every wine is curated for both its quality (and value), as well as its artistic label, where every label artist will be featured. And, we combine this artistic wine component with fine art --paintings, photography, sculpture, antiques and artifacts which portray wine in both literal and abstract ways. Art-centric wine. Wine-centric art. John Hulihan curates wine. Suzy Locke curates art. And there’s more. Many wines are available for tasting in a relaxed residential setting and can be paired with tasty light food prepared by Chef Mark Dommen and Pastry Chef Patti Dellamonica Bauler of One Market Restaurant We hope you will enjoy the Wine & Wall experience with all of your senses.
