The Regional Office is located in Atlanta, Georgia, a vibrant and exciting Southern city. Certified copies of Georgia birth and death certificates can now be ordered online through ROVER, a service provided by the Georgia Technology Authority in cooperation with the Georgia Department of Public Health. The quick and easy online process eliminates the need to mail a request or make a trip to a government office for birth and death records.
What is PINES? PINES (Public Information Network for Electronic Services) is Georgia’s “borderless library” system that allows PINES card holders free access to books and other materials in more than 275 library branch and affiliated service locations throughout the state. Who can use PINES? Every resident of Georgia is eligible to receive a free PINES library card, even if your local library system is not a member of the PINES network. Visit any participating PINES library to get started. What does PINES have to offer you, as a library user? Access to 9.6 million books and other materials that can be checked out from and returned to any participating library free of charge. Search the online catalog. Free delivery of books from other libraries throughout the state to your home library. Service through 252 branch libraries and more than 20 other affiliated service locations in 53 regional library systems covering 144 Georgia counties. See list of participating libraries. Ability to renew your books and place holds online. An easy-to-use Kids' Catalog that focuses exclusively on youth materials. How does the PINES team assist library staff? The PINES team assists the employees of all 53 PINES member library systems with PINES-related issues and training on the Evergreen software. We provide documentation on policies and procedures, in-person and online training opportunities, and assistance through the Help Desk. Library staff members may also subscribe to the PINES list-servs to join the always-helpful PINES community and keep up to date on issues that other PINES member libraries are facing.
