Jim grew up in a family wholesale food supply business that served bakery and various food-service operations across much of the United States. Because of his travels for work, as well as yearly trips to Italy to visit family, he had many opportunities to experience food presentation and preparation at its best. In the mid 1990's Jim started experimenting with a type of pizza that was produced on an open grill with a cracker style crust. Over the years he perfected the technique and regularly produced top quality and exceptionally tasty pizza for large gatherings of friends and family. The Inspiration: Pizzino Owner, Jim Zimmerman, has found himself fortunate enough to travel with his wife and family to many places, but there was one city in Italy they returned to year after year. Forte Dei Marmi is a small beach town in Tuscany that captured not only his family's heart but its taste buds. Pizzino pizzas and focaccias are not only inspired by the town's simple but flavorful cuisine but the places that make it special. The Pizza: Pizza from Pizzino comes in two different distinct styles. One of the offerings, Pizza al Taglio, is a reflection of the pizza by the slice that is served, ready to go, in many places around Italy. This pizza is baked on a focaccia style crust and dressed with simple yet great tasting toppings and produced in our stone oven. You can order a slice and eat in house or on the run. The other pizza uses a cracker style crust produced on a grill before being topped with the unique combination of ingredients offered at Pizzino on Wydown. Jen followed many of her interests including investment banking, .com start-ups, culinary school, media, branding, nonprofits, and design before recognizing wellness was where she thrived most. Jen loves moving, eating healthy, having fun and helping others do the same. At 41 years young, Jen feels her healthiest and most excited about life today. As Jen explains: “It’s taken me 41 years to recognize my TRUYou. Movement and healthy eating have been constants in my life - no matter what city I lived in or what job title I held. Biking, dance, yoga, kettle bells, tap dancing, martial arts, you name it, if it was fun and I could move, I did it. Shopping at farmer’s markets for healthy, local foods became second nature to me. When I moved or ate healthy I felt most like me – my TRUYou.” Before launching TRUYou, Jen developed the wellness program for the largest independently owned physician group in St. Louis with 150,000 patients and 500+ employees. She helped a group of patients lose over 7,000 pounds and eliminate many medications.
