History The Tenderloin Clinic first opened its doors in October 1975, with a mandate to provide outpatient mental health services to adult residents of the Tenderloin. Initially located at 200 Golden Gate, the Clinic was a component of the Community Care Center of Northeast Community Mental Health, Inc. It moved to its present location in 2004. The Clinic has been administered by a number of agencies over the years, most recently the Bayview Hunters Point Foundation. In July of 2003, the Clinic became an independent program of the Hyde Street Community Services, Inc. Over the years, despite changes in location, administration, and staff, the Clinic has maintained a reputation for quality services, continually anticipating and adapting to the changing needs of the population it serves. After over ten years of operation, the clinic now serves over 700 clients. The Tenderloin Clinic provides an array of services built on a model of comprehensive care. Using a team approach to treatment, a multi-disciplinary staff works together to address the often complex problems of the client population. Adhering to a philosophy of providing integrated services, the Clinic welcomes individuals with co-morbid substance abuse problems and addresses those issues in both individual and group treatment. Assessment All clients receive a comprehensive initial evaluation and assessment to determine an individualized plan of care. Individual Treatment Individual treatment is available in a variety of formats: brief, problem-focused therapy, long-term therapy and supportive counseling. Group Treatment Group treatment varies according to client interest and need, but may include: Social Skills, Dual Diagnosis, Symptom Management, Wellness & Recovery, Women's and Men's Groups, Vocational Support and others. Medications Medication evaluations, monitoring and maintenance are provided by a team of Psychiatrists, Nurse Practitioners and Licensed Psychiatric Technicians. Full Service Partnership Depending on need, supportive case management, advocacy and referral services are available to all clients. Intensive case management and treatment with the FSP Team is provided to those individuals with more complex case management needs which must be addressed to maintain and enhance community functioning. Urgent Care During all hours of operation, staff are available to registered clients for urgent care including emergency, psychiatric medications and crisis intervention. Arab/ muslim services Culturally sensitive services are available to the Arab and Muslim population of San Francisco. Treatment is provided in Arabic for monolingual clients. Psychological Testing Psychological testing is available to assist in clarifying diagnosis and identifying organic or cognitive deficits. Programs within CBHS may refer clients for this specific service.

Individuals Individual work is core to my practice. I work with adults, adolescents and families. Together we can explore whatever you feel to be disturbing your experience of life, particularly depression, anxiety, grief, loneliness, spiritual and creative blocks, illness, childhood abuse, trauma or issues related to sexuality, gender expression, and intimacy. Couples In working with couples, I assist my clients in their exploration of relationship. I work with intimate partners, siblings and friendship pairs. I am particularly drawn towards working with couples who are in the process of changing the way they experience relationship, whether that change is one of coming together, or moving apart. Families and Groups I have a broad definition of family, ranging from the traditional nuclear family to families of choice and nontraditional configuration. I can assist you in exploring the patterns that sometimes interfere with the healthy functioning of the family system. I also work with groups, some short term, and others long term. Please inquire for further information about newly forming groups, and groups open to new members. As an MFT and a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, I work with a unique blend of traditional psychotherapy and a felt sense approach. I use a variety of modalities (psychodynamics/ early attachment theories/ experiential/ transpersonal) with body awareness: this complex array of tools allows for a smoother healing process. My specialty is in the renegotiation and the resolution of overwhelming traumatic experience that happened “too fast, too much, too soon” and that have caused debilitating symptoms of anxiety, depression, stress and loss. With the SE method I guide my clients into self-regulating the emotions that have become unmanageable and the nervous system that has been shocked. I also specialize in early attachment deficits and how they manifest in adult life. I am eager to work with the full spectrum of life issues that occur at all ages. I am open to work with immigrants and war vets.

I love being a photographer in the San Francisco area! Over the years I have shot hundreds of weddings, styled photos, family portraits, boudoir sessions and senior photos. I believe my role as a photographer is to bring out the natural, unique beauty of each person I shoot. I believe photography should be fun and effortless. It should not feel like a trip to the dentist. Above all I want to make sure my clients feel relaxed and happy during their sessions. I provide loose direction while shooting and capture those special moments when the true personality of the client shines. Ultimately, I want my clients to feel like they are playing dress-up, hanging out with best friends or having cherished family moments – just be yourself and I will take care of the rest! I promise you will walk away with photos you will want to pass down for generations to come.
