If you've ever dreamed about flying an airplane, if you're looking for the adventure of a lifetime, let VisionAir turn your dream into reality. With over 50 years experience VisionAir will make learning to fly easier, more fun and affordable than you ever imagined. Frequently asked questions about flight education -What age do I need to be to take flying lessons? A student pilot certificate, which allows solo flight privileges, can be obtained as young as 16 years of age and full private pilot license as young as 17 years of age. There is no maximum age limit for being a pilot. -What are the requirements for me to become a pilot? To become a private pilot, you must complete necessary training, be 17 years of age, pass a FAA-required routine medical exam, and be able to speak, read and understand English. -What type of training is involved with learning how to fly? Pilot training involves two types of instruction: ground instruction and flight instruction. During ground instruction you will study flight rules and regulations, flight planning, navigation, radio procedures and weather interpretation. During flight instruction, you will actually control the airplane yourself (the big moment)! A certified flight instructor will supervise you as you learn to take off, fly and land the airplane. -What is the first step? We offer an Introductory Flight Lesson that will give you a good introduction to learning how to fly. If it is something you wish to pursue, simply schedule additional lessons based on your schedule and budget. -How long will it take me to obtain a private pilot license? You need 40 hours. Most students will finish training in only a few months. Each student, however, learns at a different pace. Other factors, such as weather, your time and budget, should also be considered. Flying lessons - Away you go! Recreation Purposes - Family vacations, travel to lake homes, fishing and hunting trips, romantic getaways and exciting pastimes. Career Opportunities - Flight instructors, airline pilots, air ambulance pilots, air traffic controllers, airport mangers, flight navigators and communicators and aircraft maintenance technicians. Business Purposes - Sales people (expanding their business territories), Medical professionals (needing to reach remote clinics and patients), Construction companies (traveling to present at conferences and workshops). Still unsure? Talk to a pilot. Talk to several pilots. The story will be the same. They'll tell you that the adventure of flying is worth every ounce of effort you put into it. And that you can't make a better investment of your time, money, and commitment.
