The Boeing International Headquarters is a 36-floor skyscraper located in the Near West Side of Chicago. The building, at 100 North Riverside Plaza, is located on the west side of the Chicago River directly across from the downtown Loop. The building was designed with a structural system that uses steel trusses to support its suspended southwest corner in order to clear the Amtrak and Metra railroad tracks immediately beneath it. It won the Structural Engineers Association of Illinois' "Most Innovative" Design Award.The building was originally constructed for the Morton Salt Company; Boeing moved their corporate headquarters there in 2001 when they opted to leave Seattle for Chicago. Navteq moved their headquarters to the Boeing Building in 2007. It has also housed offices of Ameritech.
Hyatt Center is an American office tower in Chicago completed in 2005. The 48-story skyscraper stands at 679 feet (207 m) on 71 South Wacker Drive. It is owned by the Irvine Company.Pei Cobb Freed & Partners' striking elliptical steel and glass design is reminiscent of Tour EDF, a skyscraper in Paris, France designed by the same firm.The 1,765,000 square foot (164,000 m²) building contains 65,000 cubic yards (50,000 m³) of concrete and 12,000 tons of structural steel. It took about 2,700 truckloads to excavate the building's foundation, and 1,300,000 man hours over nearly two years to finish. Twenty-eight high speed elevators serve Hyatt Center.The building features extensive landscape design by Chicago's Hoerr Schaudt Landscape Architects, both inside and outside, from bamboo groves, complete with fountains, lining the modern lobby to lush green grass in raised curved stone planters on the building's south side. The Hyatt Center also contains art panels by Keith Tyson and a trompe l'oeil mural by Ricci Albenda.The anchor tenants of the building include Hyatt Hotels Corporation - floors 10 through 17 - and Mayer Brown LLP - floors 32,33 and 36-43. The floor 2 cafe is available to all tenants and registered guests.

In 1978, Sujala & Brij Vohra migrated from India to the Unites States with intentions of providing better opportunity and an improved quality of life for themselves and their son, Jay Vohra (founder of Thread Away). After twenty years of working for various companies – rebuilding their lives – in 1996, Sujala Vohra opened a small suburban salon and boutique, in Oak Brook, Illinois. She named it “Rivaz”, which is hindi for “tradition”. Sujala ran the salon/boutique with the help of her husband, Brij. The salon was successful, and she sold a little of everything in the boutique. Over the next few years, additional locations opened. Sujala devoted most of her time working hard to not only support the growth of RIvaz, but also creating a sense of community in the neighborhood and fostering a culture of support for her employees, whom she loved and treated like family. Because of her long hours at the salon, Jay, who was in his late twenties at the time, would often come to visit her there. One of the many services that was offered at Rivaz was threading. Jay – who was working in sales at a fortune 500 company at the time – would sit back and observe the business. He began to notice that people would line up for this threading service. Its popularity inspired him to eventually pull this piece of the business out and form a new, threading focused, stand-alone business. With this, Thread Away was born; the first threading salon in Chicago. The first location was a small space on Wells Street, followed by several more locations over a span of 7 years. People were quick to adopt threading into their beauty regimen as a quick, natural, cost-effective, and convenient service. The business thrived, experiencing 40% growth consistently year after year. Customers began to inquire about additional service options, which inspired Jay to allow the business to naturally evolve into a full-service wellness & beauty spa: ACCHAA Spa!
