The name Planter’s House pays homage to the landmark Planter’s House Hotel, which stood as a Saint Louis icon from 1817 – 1922. It was well renowned as one of the finest hotels in the nation, and its name was synonymous with hospitality. It was located in downtown Saint Louis, occupying the block north of the old courthouse, on 4th Street between Chestnut and Pine. At one point during its history, the Planter’s Hotel employed the famous “Professor” Jerry Thomas as its head bartender, who was the highly respected bartender who wrote the first ever cocktail book in 1862. Perhaps some of Jerry Thomas’s famous recipes were developed during his time in Saint Louis at the Planter’s Hotel.
The Planter’s Hotel closed its doors in 1922, and the grand building was torn down in 1976. At Planter’s House, we strive to carry on its history of hospitality, deliciously prepared cocktails and food, and its place as an iconic Saint Louis meeting place.

Located next door to the new St. Louis Police Department headquarters in downtown St. Louis, The Precinct is a welcoming neighborhood bar and grill with great food and drinks.
At The Precinct, we honor the men and women who protect and serve St. Louis – our police and first responders. Our menu items reflect a fun sense of style with dishes such as the “Hot Pursuit Wing Challenge,” “The Billy Club,” and “K-9 Dogs.”
And it never hurts when the top place in town to watch your sports teams on TV is owned by one of St. Louis’ own sports legends – Jim Edmonds.
Come share some wings and good times with all of us at The Precinct. We can’t fix your traffic ticket, but we can fix terrific food and drinks.
We are first and foremost a local brewery selling within roughly a 300 mile radius from the breweries. This gets our trucks there and back in a day, keeps the beer at its freshest and creates minimum carbon footprint. For now, Schlafly Beer is available in Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, and Tennessee. Limited distribution can also be found in Washington DC, New York City, Virginia, New Jersey, Maryland, and Delaware. Outside of this immediate community, we are beginning to get favorable press coverage for producing some of America’s best quality beer.
