Food Truck Festivals of New England (FTFNE) believes that food trucks needn’t be a ‘treat’ restricted for city dwellers only, and we believe that, given the opportunity, people in all parts of Massachusetts and New England would not only like to eat, but would love the chance to sample gourmet food from the area’s best food trucks without having to make the trek into the “big city”! The 2012 FTFNE tour is the largest group of consecutive food truck festivals to ever hit the Northeast. We have teamed up with some of the biggest food trucks in the region to launch a festival tour coming to cities and towns throughout the New England, making sure that there will be a festival somewhere in the region virtually every weekend from June through October. Our goal at FTFNE is not only to introduce communities across New England to the booming phenomenon that is food trucks, but to also help create a platform to support the small business owners that run them. We believe that this is a trend that has longevity, and we want to do our part to help create a more sustainable future for the trucks by paying each one for their participation in the events and ‘feeding’ the food truck industry as a whole. We hope that by providing plenty of great, fun food for ticketholders and by supporting the trucks we will create a new New England tradition for generation of foodies to come. The Taste of Cambridge transforms University Park Common and Sidney Street into a Lush Haven for Gastronomical Exploration and Gustatory Indulgences of the highest order! Each year foodies descend upon the Taste of Cambridge to sample the delicious, creative, healthy and award-winning cuisine found in every square inch that comprises our fine and notable food-loving City! Our event is one of the great food sampling experiences in the region featuring 100+ local restaurants and local specialty butcher, cheese, honey, wine, beer, specialty drinks and coffee purveyors. CLAB works year-round to prevent underage drinking and to educate and support liquor license holders in their efforts to prohibit sales to minors. The TOC, in addition to being an extraordinary gastronomic experience is also a charitable event! We provide interview appropriate suits and accessories free of charge to disadvantaged women who are entering or re-entering the job market. We work with a diverse population of women who come from many different backgrounds. However, they all share one important quality in common: they all are highly motivated to change their lives for the better and we exist to assist them in doing so. When a woman comes to us for interview clothing, we provide her with a suit and all the accessories necessary to create a professional image. As soon as she has found a job, each woman is welcome back for a follow-up appointment designed to assist her in building a professional wardrobe. A professional shopper from our group of volunteers is assigned to work with each woman who comes in for an appointment. Between the nurturing and support that they receive from our volunteers and the knowledge of how good they look in their new outfits, the women invariably leave Dress for Success with a new-found faith and confidence in their ability to succeed in their aspirations.
The Anderson Foundation, the Boston University Culinary Arts Program, and the Pierre Franey Memorial Fund are collaborating to offer your K-12 students an opportunity to explore a culture through its cuisine at Boston University. This is a unique program which takes place in the Culinary Arts Department. The program is taught by a Chef assisted by students enrolled in the School of Culinary Arts. It lasts approximately 1.5-2 hours. During this time, your class will have the opportunity to... See the foods being prepared in the Boston University demonstration kitchens. Learn about the ingredients, including herbs, spices and other seasonings. Learn about the culture and how the cuisine came to be. Following this, a lunch consisting of the prepared foods is enjoyed by the students.
Crafts for Charity is a non-profit organization that looks for ways we can create and distribute handmade crafts to hospitals, elderly homes, and homeless shelters in the greater Boston area. We’ll use many different types of crafts, such as sewing, crocheting, and knitting, so if you feel like helping out, swing on by! From scarves for the cold to toys for those tots, we strive to lend a helping hand in our own unique ways. You don’t need to be an expert at knitting or even have experience with a needle, but if you feel like adding a personal touch to something charitable, we’ll show you the ropes!
The description of our group, as it reads in our Constitution: The goal of Boston University Global China Connection is to bridge the gap between Boston University undergraduate students and China. Through organizing lecture series, workshops, as well as interactive conferences featuring Boston University faculty members, Boston University Global China Connection aims to foster BU students’ understanding towards China’s development and culture, and to inform them of the vast array of opportunities in China. Boston University Global China Connection will partner with Global China Connections and Global China Connections chapters around the world to provide opportunities for BU students to network with their peers who share a mutual interest in China.
The Massachusetts Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired offers vision rehabilitation services to elders with vision loss, 32 support groups across the state, low vision clinics, and a volunteer program that provides assistance to the blind from volunteers in their community. The Adult Disability Services program, began in 1973, operates residences throughout Greater Boston to meet the specialized needs of adults with developmental disabilities and secondary disorders, allowing them to live in community-based homes; and MABWorks, a vocational education program that trains adults with disabilities for independent employment. The Ivy Street School, founded in 1993, provides residential and educational treatment to the growing number of adolescents with brain injuries and other neurological difficulties. Ivy Street serves students age 13-22 to help them gain the skills and strategies to successfully manage their disabilities and the challenging behaviors caused by brain injury, working toward the goal of successful adult life.

Formed in 1984, Boston University's Public Interest Project (PIP) is a student-run organization whose mission is to foster a commitment to non-profit, government, and pro bono work and promote community service for all interested BU Law students and alumni, whether they ultimately pursue a public interest career or work in the private sector. To meet these goals, PIP organizes networking events, facilitates discussions and panels on public interest opportunities, and coordinates community service activities. Additionally, PIP helps raise money to provide grants to students who accept unpaid summer positions with non-profit, public interest or government organizations.
Lambda Chi Alpha was founded here at Boston University by a law student named Warren A. Cole. We are the Alpha Chapter. As a fraternity we seek to offer the best fraternal experience, focusing on personal character development through leadership, scholarship, community service, and positive social experiences. We pride ourselves in strong brotherhood and use it to positively contribute to the Boston University community. The brothers of Lambda Chi Alpha contribute greatly to our national philanthropy, Feeding America, by collecting thousands of pounds of food and making regular trips to the Greater Boston Food Bank. We are not only leaders on campus, but leaders in the community. Lambda Chi Alpha is one of the largest men’s general fraternities in North America with more than 275,000 initiated members, with nearly 200 active chapters. We are the first fraternity to eliminate pledging in the early 1970s, and instead we implement an fraternity education process which integrates you into the chapter as a whole, develops a standard of treatment that treats associate members and initiates completely equal. Lambda Chi Alpha serves as a co-curricular experience to complement higher education by providing young men with opportunities for academic achievement, leadership development, and lifelong friendships.
