Inspired by R. Crosby Kemper, III, the idea of a free, outdoor Shakespeare festival began in 1997. In 2001 Chairman of the Board Marvin Moskowitz, first Managing Director Lana Pepper and a visionary board of civic leaders produced the first annual free Shakespeare Festival in Forest Park. Since the initial two-week run and first season attendance of 33,000, the Festival has grown to a two-month celebration of the Bard throughout the city with annual attendance over 60,000. Averaging over 3,000 audience members nightly, the Festival has become St. Louis’ premier classical theater and a main cultural attraction for the city. ts. Rick Dildine served as the Festival’s first Executive Director from 2009 – 2014 and oversaw its growth beyond the Park to the schools and streets of St. Louis. In 2014, the Festival entertained its 640,000th patron in Forest Park and 270,000th student. Our legacy is seen in the tens of thousands of patrons and students who have participated in our work. Year-round we are engaging our citizens in the schools, in the streets and in the park. With a commitment to community, conversation and collaboration, our theme of unexpected theatre drives our creative and producing choices. Each season hundreds of supporters come together to produce Shakespeare Festival St. Louis. Unlike other theaters in the region, SFSTL depends almost entirely on the contributions of individuals, foundations, corporations and public institutions for support. We do not follow a traditional model; we believe we are creating the next model. We’re still writing our story. We’re trailblazers; we’re making the path together. Join us!

American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer® is a 5K, noncompetitive walk that unites the St. Louis community to honor breast cancer survivors, educate people about steps they can take to reduce their risk or find breast cancer early, and raise funds to help end this disease. More than 192,000 women were expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013 and more than 40,000 to die from the disease. Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is more than just the name of an event: it represents the progress we are making together to defeat this disease. Funds raised through this event support the American Cancer Society’s efforts to save lives by helping people stay well by preventing cancer or finding it early; helping people get well by being there for them during and after a cancer diagnosis; by finding cures through investment in groundbreaking research; and by fighting back by encouraging lawmakers to pass laws to defeat cancer and by rallying communities worldwide to join the fight.

Forest Park-DeBaliviere is a MetroLink light rail station, located at the northeast corner of Forest Park Parkway and DeBaliviere Avenue in St. Louis, Missouri. This station is located just to the north of Forest Park. Attractions in the park include the St. Louis Art Museum, Saint Louis Zoo, Missouri History Museum and The Muny in addition to athletic fields, biking and running trails, and golf courses. The station is the transfer point for trips between the Shrewsbury branch and the Lambert Airport branch. It also features 100 Park-Ride spaces. The Forest Park-DeBaliviere station opened on July 31, 1993 as one of the original stations in the MetroLink system. It was originally constructed with side platforms and a single entrance serving the westbound platform. Access to the eastbound platform required walking the length of the westbound platform and crossing the tracks at the end. As part of the Cross-County extension of MetroLink from Forest Park-DeBaliviere to Shrewsbury-Lansdowne I-44, the station was reconstructed with an island platform to allow easy cross platform transfers between the Blue and Red lines and two station entrances, one on either side of DeBaliviere Avenue.
