The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is an oceanfront amusement park in Santa Cruz, California. Founded in 1907, it is California's oldest surviving amusement park and one of the few seaside parks on the West Coast of the United States.OverviewThe Boardwalk extends along the coast of the Monterey Bay, from just east of the Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf to the mouth of the San Lorenzo River. At the western edge of the park lies a large building originally known as The Plunge, Now Neptune's Kingdom, which contains a video arcade, and indoor miniature golf course. Next to this is The Casino Fun Center which includes a laser tag arena and next to that (To the Right) is The Cocoanut Grove banquet room and conference center. A Laffing Sal automated character, from San Francisco's Playland, is viewable near the miniature golf course.East of the Casino, the boardwalk portion of the park stretches along a wide, sandy beach visitors can access easily from the park. The eastern end of the boardwalk is dominated by the Giant Dipper roller coaster, one of the best-known wooden coasters in the world and one of the most visible landmarks in Santa Cruz. The Dipper and the Looff Carousel, which still contains its original 342-pipe organ built in 1894, are both on the US National Register of Historic Places. They were, together, declared to be a National Historic Landmark in 1987 and the park is California Historical Landmark number 983.
The Santa Cruz Wharf is a wharf in Santa Cruz, California, United States, known for fishing, boat tours, viewing sea lions, dining, nightlife and gift shops. The current wharf was built in 1914, the last of six built on the site, and is operated by the City of Santa Cruz Parks and Recreation Office. The wharf is situated between Main Beach (which is adjacent to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk) and Cowell's Beach, on the westside of Santa Cruz City. With a length of 2745ft, it is the longest pier on the West Coast of the United States.A fish market on the wharf is featured in scenes from the film Sudden Impact.HistoryThe Santa Cruz Wharf opened on December 5, 1914. The original purpose of building the wharf was for shipping potatoes to San Francisco for mining camps in the Sierra Nevada during the Gold Rush. After the innovation of motor vehicles and improved land routes, the Wharf’s primary focus changed to be the base of the north Monterey Bay fishing industry. By the 1950s as Monterey Bay’s sardine and other fish populations dwindled, nearly every family owned a vehicle and had money to spend on recreation. As a result, the Santa Cruz Wharf became predominately a recreational destination. Today, the wharf is still a popular tourist attraction, nestled adjacent to the city's leading attraction, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Visitors flock to the wharf for a variety of restaurants, gift shops, wine tasting, candy stores, and just to stroll and peer down at the sea lions below. Annually, an estimated 1.5 million visitors come to the Santa Cruz Wharf to fish, shop, dine and sightsee.

Santa Cruz's Smallest and Greatest! Eights & Aces was opened early 2008 by FLiP because of strong desire to create a place where he could take his art and Tattooing to new heights. He wanted to keep the shop small and intimate to avoid that big shop feel and found the perfect location at 343 1/2 Soquel Ave. Here He was able to concentrate on his art and one-on-one interactions with his clients. Also joining FLiP on this artistic journey are Ethan Jones and Adrian Aguayo. With these three distinctly different artist customers can rest assured that to have an amazing tattoo, they are in great hands. After years of constantly reassuring FLiP that an apprenticeship was a good idea Ethan finally succeed in realizing his dream of becoming a tattoo artist. All of his hard work has paid off and it shows in his tattoos! it couldn't have been a better decision!! Adrian has joined us after the unfortunate closing of the shop where he spent the past few years. We are happy to have him be part of Eights and Aces! Those of you who have been to the shop tell your friends to come by and see what all the talk is about!!! Eights & Aces - Stealing Sexy Back! FLiP, Ethan and Adrian

Students will participate in physical exercise for 14 hours each week; to discourage compliancy and maintain physical health. Based out of the Santa Cruz City School District , academic success will be monitored and support will be sought for students who are in need of improving grades. 2. Students will benefit academically, physically and emotionally by being connected to a group of healthy peers and older role models. 3. Grounded in the following philosophy, we firmly believe that we are helping to form community members who will be proud of our race and respectful of all people: A town, a family, or a person without a past is like a tree without roots. It is without vitality, fragile, and can be blow down by any wind that comes along. Knowing and deeply understanding where one comes from is fundamental in order for us to overcome present and future hardships. This is “To be deeply rootetd,” strong and sure of all that we have been, proud of who we are now, and confident as we move toward the future.
