South Grand's mission is to cultivate a robust and supportive business climate on South Grand in order to establish the Tower Grove community as the premiere urban lifestyle district in the Saint Louis Metropolitan area.
MISSION STATEMENT ArtDimensions is a 501(c)3, non-profit arts organization in St. Louis, MO organized for the charitable and educational purposes of supporting and educating local artists, providing art exhibits for the community and developing the artistic community in St. Louis. Part of ArtDimensions’ strategy for achieving its purposes is to teach current artists about art techniques and business survival skills, and to create the next generation of artists by teaching children about art. ArtDimensions also seeks to educate the public about art and develop their appreciation for art. ArtDimensions’ strategy to do this is simple: show the public as much art as possible. ArtDimensions holds Monthly Artist Networking meetings on the first Monday of every month at 7:00 PM. The meetings are open to artists and performers of all types and skill level. All are welcome to attend and share their art with and meet other like-minded people. Locations vary each month, so check this page or our website regularly for details!
SNIA works closely with elected officials, police and other community leaders to better the quality of life in our neighborhood. Plus, we market the neighborhood to potential residents, through community events.
The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan St. Louis was incorporated on April 28, 1982. The incorporators were: Maria Elena Alonso; Manuel De La O; Michael Mahler; Jennie Ojeda; Anthony B. Ramirez; Maria Isabel Thompson; Mario Santander; B. A. Villarreal; and Luis G. Zambrana. Shortly thereafter, the Chamber was accepted as an affiliate of the United Stated Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC), which currently has more than two hundred affiliates across the nation. The Chamber has striven to support and promote Hispanic small businesses. In 2009, the organization took a major step to solidifying its role as the premier Hispanic organization in the St. Louis region when it opened a Technology & Resource Center (TRC) in the City of St. Louis. The endeavor was made possible through an appropriation from the federal government obtained by Senator Christopher “Kit” Bond. The computers at the TRC were purchased with an Accelerator Grant provided by AT&T. And the software for the computers was donated by the Microsoft Corporation. Also in 2009, the Chamber established a charitable arm, the HCC STL Foundation, which will focus on youth, workforce development, and education. Major events each year include the Adelante Awards in April, the Hispanic Speakers Series in July, and the HCC Golf Tournament in September. The Chamber also plays an active role in an annual political advocacy day, Hispanic Day at Jefferson City. Through all of these efforts, the Chamber attempts to strengthen Hispanic enterprise and small and minority business integration to promote a sustainable socioeconomic development and a better quality of life in the St. Louis region. The Chamber serves as facilitator in strengthening Hispanic enterprise, it anticipates new challenges and opportunities, encourages innovation, and promotes the development of the Hispanic entrepreneurial sector. The Chamber is a vigorous and vibrant arm of the economic community whose membership is not limited to Hispanic organizations or professionals. Currently, the Chamber has 152 members. Membership in the Chamber is voluntary for all business owners and professionals. After joining, the members agree to abide by the principles, rules of conduct and regulations established by this institution for the benefit of its membership and the business community at large. The Chamber is open to those that share its goals of fostering progress to all sectors of the economy, and particularly to the Hispanic business community, for a better and stronger St. Louis region.

Dense urban cores, vibrant arts and diverse cultural communities, and cheap and efficient public transportation are features which keep cities like New York, Chicago, and London on the map. That vibrancy one feels, the humming electricity in the air when wandering the streets of a cosmopolitan city, is the Human Current. We raise the voltage of the Human Current through people-centric design dedicated to improving access to resources in a few key areas: education, sustainability, and transit. Though we will also be selling some home goods and other retail products, our community building practice - Citizen Carpentry - will hold classes through Dabble and offer discounts to Cowry Collective Timebanking members. We are dedicated to promoting alternative economic models and decentralizing production away from big box stores. Sourcing materials locally as well as upcycling reduces transportation costs and keeps material out of landfills, which helps to reduce our carbon footprint.

After the deadly heat wave of 1980 and the devastating blizzard two years later, Sister of the Incarnate Word, Patricia A. Kelley founded EnergyCare to provide protection for the poor from the deadly hazards of extreme cold and heat (hypothermia and hyperthermia). Early on, Sr. Pat and volunteers concentrated on public education and referral services. However, Sr. Pat quickly realized that more needed to be done for high-risk populations such as the elderly and seriously ill. By 1986, a full time staff had been hired and more direct services, such as the delivery of heaters and air conditioners had been added. Since then, EnergyCare has continued to grow and enhance its programs and services.
The District was created in 2007 by City of St. Louis Board of Aldermand Bill #67593 for the five-year period beginning January 1, 2008 through December 31, 2012. The District Property is all of the property located within the City of St. Louis abutting the roadway commonly known as Flora Place together with any rear parcels that abut parcels abutting on Flora Place and bounded on the east by Grand Boulevard, on the west by Tower Grove Avenue, on the north by the east-west alleyways located in CB 4935, CB 4940, CB 4941, CB 4946, CB 4947, and CB 4952 (and excluding those properties north of such alley ways abutting Russell Boulevard ), and on the south by the east-west alleyways located in CB 4934, CB 4929, CB 4920, CB 4919, CB 2117, and CB 2118 (and excluding those properties south of such alleyways abutting Flad Avenue). The District is governed by a Board consisting of a President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and Block Captains from each block within the District. The Board meets five times a year or more at the house of the President. The Flora Place CID Board will meet in 2012 on the following schedule. My First 5k! is a concept born from my first 5k. When I ran my first 5k I trained for nearly six months to accomplish my goal. I went from sedentary to running a full 5k which I though was an unattainable goal for myself. The feeling of pride that I had when I crossed the finish line is indescribable and my hope with My First 5k! is that we can help others achieve the same feeling in a safe and encouraging environment, running their first 5k with a team of others who are feeling the exact same pride and struggle that they are, to make it through their very first race. Racers will be able to sign up as a first 5ker or a motivational runner. First 5kers don’t always travel their first 5k journey alone and we want them to be able to experience it with whoever their motivational figure is. First 5kers will be encouraged to wear yellow so everyone can see them, cheer them on along the way, motivate them throughout the race and give them the support they need to finish their first race strong. Not only will spectators and motivators be able to spot the first 5kers in their yellow shirts, first 5kers will be able to spot each other! American Music Abroad is a cultural diplomacy program that brings together American musicians with global audiences. The program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and is run by American Voices. Each year AMA selects approximately 10 ensembles to embark on overseas tours. While on these tours musicians participate in concerts, workshops, educational programs and more. mushmaus has been established to offer time, ample space, and a stipend for DIY conceptual visual communicators to realize big ideas and to encourage an elevated dialogue about work completed at mushmaus between Saint Louis artists, resident artists from abroad, and members of the community. mushmaus promotes and facilitates the exploration and cultivation of installation, cross-media, new-media, or other transformative endeavors though collaborations, interactions, performances, meetings, exhibitions, lectures, publications, and more.
