Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center is the private adult hospital of the Baylor College of Medicine jointly owned with CHI St. Luke’s Health. The medical staff at the hospital includes full-time Baylor faculty, as well as community physicians. The hospital is currently located at the former St. Luke’s Medical Center, located on Bertner Street in the Texas Medical Center in Houston. The hospital is an 850-bed institution that is also a clinical partner of the Texas Heart Institute.HistoryThe hospital was originally chartered as a 180 bed, non-profit, general hospital in 1945. The charter increased to 300 beds within the first decade, and eventually to 850 beds. In 1962, the hospital affiliated with the Texas Heart Institute (THI). In 1997, the hospital was established as the flagship hospital for the Episcopal Diocese of Texas, as part of the non-profit St. Luke's Episcopal Health System (SLEH). In 2004, SLEH entered into an agreement with the Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) to become its primary adult teaching hospital. In 2013, the hospital was acquired as part of the Catholic Health Initiatives $2 billion purchase of the St. Luke's Episcopal Health System. The health system was renamed as CHI St. Luke's Health System, and the flagship hospital renamed as St. Luke's Medical Center.In January 2014, BCM and CHI St. Luke's Health agreed to be joint owners of St. Luke's Medical Center. The hospital was accordingly renamed as the Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center (TMC campus). As international leaders in caring for the health of babies and children, Texas Children's Hospital knows the importance of breastfeeding and mother's milk to the health and development of newborn babies. Texas Children's Lactation Services provides a variety of resources for breastfeeding mothers and their infants. Registered nurses and peer counselors specializing in lactation counseling and clinical breastfeeding management are available for clinic or hospital appointments. Educational programs and consultations to area hospitals and healthcare providers, including information on maternal medications and their excretion into breast milk, are available upon request. Texas Children's Milk Bank is a state-of-the-art collection, labeling, refrigeration and dispensing center that stores and prepares deposited breast milk to feed infants who are patients in Texas Children's Newborn Center nurseries. In January 2009, Texas Children’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) initiated a protocol of feeding donor breast milk to all NICU babies weighing fewer than three pounds if their mothers were unable to provide their own breast milk. In response to the growing needs of this protocol, Texas Children’s Milk Bank recently launched a Milk Donation Center to help provide for the nutritional needs of newborns in the NICU. Camp Keep Smiling was created for children affected by cleft lip and palate issues, and established to give these children a chance to be themselves, make new friendships and gain self-confidence. it is offered free of charge to patients between the ages of 10 and 16 at the Texas Children’s Cleft Lip and Palate Clinic.

As most of you know Tausha started feeling sick a few weeks ago and was taken to Bayshore and there they discovered she was Septic, infected with an aggressive case of Aplastic Anemia, and a serious Streptococcus Bacteria Pneumonia. She was transferred to MD ANDERSON on 5/7/2012 and they started further testing. The most serious issue she is dealing with at the moment is Aplastic Anemia with often evolves into Leukemia. Tausha is going through a great deal of platelets and we need help obtaining more of these platelets. Chemotherapy commenced on May 10th. She is being very strong thus far, but with 4 young children and Loving Husband it is very hard, so please join us in supporting Tausha and her family; Team Tausha.

Because music and singing are known to be beneficial in the healing process, we hope that the process of creating, singing and recording original songs will provide health benefits in addition to a sense of pride and joy. Purple Songs not only can fly, but do fly. The children’s songs are copied on purple CDs and flown by participating passengers, pilots or astronauts to places on earth and into space. The Electronic Health Record (EHR) is a longitudinal electronic record of patient health information generated by one or more encounters in any care delivery setting. Included in this information are patient demographics, progress notes, problems, medications, vital signs, past medical history, immunizations, laboratory data and radiology reports. The EHR automates and streamlines the clinician's workflow. CLL Global funds research projects specific to CLL. Thanks to our generous supporters, we have been able to award over $16.4 million to researchers around the globe through various mechanisms of funding. We award individual projects, we have provided seed funding for 2 CLL research consortia- one in Australia and one in Israel, and we have also created the CLL Global Alliance which promotes collaborations and integrated research.

The mission of the Neuroscience Research Center (NRC) is threefold.
