Fontbonne University Fine Arts Gallery's mission is to encourage and support the artist and the education of the visual arts in the community through its exhibitions and programs. We value the artist and their work by promoting and supporting them through exhibitions, gallery talks, education and outreach programs. We want to help build audiences for the artist’s work by providing the community with a venue to view quality art. We believe in creating an educational environment for both the artist and audience to interact for a more personal experience of art. We serve Artists - young, emerging, and professional; Art Viewers - novice, those seeking more knowledge and experience of the arts; Art Collector; and Special Populations. We reach out to these communities by providing professional art programs and encouraging the participation of art through a variety of learning opportunities. The Gallery renovation was generously funded by the Fontbonne Community Connection January 2011. The Figure Now Exhibition was the first exhibition in the new space.

We believe that a student’s critical awareness of the world and adeptness in oral and written communication provide a lasting basis for professional success and a fulfilling life. By providing solid grounding in English or communication studies, courses in each major develop the skills and perspective that enable students to adapt to change and devise creative solutions to new problems. Optional professional concentrations in broadcasting, journalism, professional writing, public relations, and teacher certification prepare students for specific careers. We also offer internship opportunities and a variety of extracurricular activities. Dynamic classes, a growing number of majors, and the long-term success of our alumni demonstrate the relevance of our programs to a diverse and changing society. Fontbonne students who have majored in English or communication studies have pursued careers in law, advertising, public relations, teaching, business, politics, journalism, and broadcasting.

The ability to communicate is our most precious human characteristic. When a person cannot communicate, isolation from friends, family and society often occurs. Nearly 10 million Americans have a speech, language and/or hearing disorder. Speech-language pathologists and deaf educators provide services to enhance the lives of those with communication disorders. All faculty members in Fontbonne University's Communication Disorders and Deaf Education department have the academic preparation and the practical experience to prepare teachers of the deaf or speech-language pathologists. Deaf education faculty members have teacher certification and speech-language pathology faculty members are licensed by the state of Missouri and certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

Notes For Life Arts & Technology Program

1155 St Louis Galleria, Ste 2417
St. Louis, MO 63117

The Notes For Life Arts & Technology Signature Program is a traditional and digital music education after-school program offered at participating Microsoft Stores in the U.S. The curriculum, which contains unique courses for high school students, consists of sessions that run from October-April and June-August in most cities. Students that enroll learn through hands-on lessons about the important relationship between the arts and their advancements as they relate to technology and entrepreneurship throughout history. The Notes For Life A&T Signature Program exposes students to three critical components; Arts Education, Innovation in Entrepreneurship, and Technology Education. In addition to the Microsoft Store offering of the Notes For Life Arts & Technology Signature Program, we also offer NFLATE (Notes For Life A&T Experience). NFLATE was created to bring life to our mission that every student, every where needs a quality, affordable, and innovative education in the arts and technology. By introducing this experience, barriers such as a lack of transportation, economics, and updated technology will no longer prevent students from learning during the crucial years of development. The Notes For Life A&T Experience also allows us to provide our program to elementary, middle, and high school students. We understand that each school, community, and organization has a unique need when it comes to best servicing their students. With NFLATE, we're able to bring the same important lessons taught at The Microsoft Store directly to the communities of the students that need it.

Clayton Early Childhood Center began as a partnership between parents and teachers who imagined a school that would provide loving, creative, and thoughtful education to children from their very first weeks of life. At first, conversations took place in hallways. Then, on the telephone. Soon, emails began to fly. This initial group became a committee, began to share their talents and formalize their ideas. More emails, phone calls, conversations in the hall. Momentum built and the future of CECC came into focus: An intimate, educational community where families and teachers work together to support their children’s health, happiness, development, and learning. Today, CECC offers top-notch care and education in a tranquil, homelike setting, at competitive tuition rates, with flexible, full-day programs – 7:30 am to 6:00 pm – that help meet the needs of working parents without additional before- or after-school care. We work to build long-term relationships with the families we serve, and consider the opportunity to share in their children’s growth and development to be a great responsibility and privilege. Our school is a nonprofit, cooperative effort. We are committed to maintaining responsible, transparent, and flexible practices to ensure that the organization will grow and evolve with its members. Clayton Early Childhood Center is a non-profit educational organization, fully licensed in the state of Missouri.
