The way a Brazilian Steakhouse is a bit different than a regular steakhouse other than a wine menu, and we don't have menus, let me explain.... At VB Steak, your meal begins with ordering drinks from your server. You can choose from specialty wines, expertly crafted cocktails, soft drinks and other beverages. Your server will also be available to answer any questions you might have, and he will also be the one to bring a selection of traditional sides to your table. Don't skip these traditional side dishes. They include golden fried bananas, pao de queijo (a delicious cheese bread made with tapioca flour to be light and fluffy), fried polenta and more. Next is a trip to our salad bar. There’s something on this salad bar for everyone — even if you’re not really a fan of salad. Once you’ve eaten your salad, the show begins. There is a red card at your table that says 'No, thank you.' When you’re ready for our chefs to begin bringing you meat, flip this card over to the green side, which says “Yes, please.” A green card sends the signal to our chefs that you’re ready for your main course. They’ll stop by as they’re walking through the restaurant and offer you the cut of meat on their skewer. You will see chefs carrying filet mignon, sirloin, lamb leg, lamb chops, sausage, chicken legs and more. Don’t forget to save room for dessert, though. Our desserts are one of the best parts of the meal, giving you choices like Flan, Papaya Cream and our famous Fireball Cheesecake. Steak ‘n Shake was founded in February, 1934 in Normal, Illinois. Gus Belt, Steak ‘n Shake’s founder, pioneered the concept of premium burgers and milk shakes. The Steak 'n Shake name has been symbolic of its heritage. The word “steak” stood for STEAKBURGER. The term “shake” stood for hand-dipped MILK SHAKES. Gus was determined to serve his customers the finest burgers and shakes in the business. To prove his point that his burgers were exceptionally prime, he would wheel in a barrel of steaks (including round, sirloin, and T-bones) and grind the meat into burgers right in front of the guests. Hence arose the origin of our famous slogan, “In Sight It Must Be Right.” After 79 years, we are continuing Steak n Shake’s tradition of serving the country’s best, freshest, and tastiest burgers and shakes.
